    - how to create directories? I am unsure as to how to do this without creating a long winded script. I want check to see if a directory or 2 directories exist and if they don't then create them. ie: dir1 \ dir2 \ dir 3 \dir 4 \ dir 5 So dir1 exists but 4 & 5 don't and neither do 2 + 3. The only way to do this that i have found is to create a separate variable for each directory and then create each separately oDir1 = c:\dirA\dirB oDir2 = dirC oDir3 = dirD mDir = oDir1 + oDimM mDir = MDir + oDir3 (just a sample) Is there a better way of doing this? jp Tag: populating AD fields from pick list Tag: 167806

    - vbscript error accessing database client or server ?? I am trying to run the following vbscript code (see SCRIPT CODE below) using an onclick event on a button(see BUTTON CODE below). I am getting the "error: object expected" at the button code line. Is there a fundamental problem with my script , i.e. trying to run a server side script using a button or is there merely a coding error??? I was hoping to run this code automatically when the page loads pulling in the txt_ClientCode value from a cookie but when i used the line txt_ClientCode = request.cookie("ClientCode") and ran the code as client side script i got an error on the word request. I have that working but on each pc that I connect to I need to specify a different path. ie c:\documents and settings\bob or \larry or \susan I am talking about %username% = bob,larry, and susan but Im not sure how I can do that. there is not connection between the computername and username.     - Uploading a File from a Form as Stream I am working on a Library Administration web page. The page provides the capability to add, edit, replace, suspend/activate, and delete documents from the site Library. The user selects a function and the form is dynamically produced using XML and the .innerHTML functionality. My problem is I need to be able to allow the upload of a file without actually submitting the form. All functionality of this admin interface is based on using the CreateObject("MSXML2.XMLHTTP") functionality, sending XML back and forth from client to server so the page does not have to reload.     - Run code based on subnet I'm pretty much just starting out with vbscript and I'm a long ways from knowing how to do something like this myself. In short, I need a script that copies files from a network share to a folder on the local drive based on where they are at in our agency (location). Since each seperate location is its own network (ie: 192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0, 192.168.3.0, ect), I need the user, when they log in, depending on what building they are at, to transfer files from a server located at that building to their local hard drive. We have a sql server located at one complex and all the other buildings connectec via T1s. Every now and then our 3rd party developers will log into our SQL server and update software libraries then force all the clients in the network to update those libraries. When all the employess in the agency come to work the next morning and all log into our database software, they all start pulling those new libraries over at the same time. These aren't small files and when everyone is doing it, it takes up to a half hour or even fails because it's too much bandwidth for the T1s to handle. One way I temporarily fixed this was to copy the files onto a server located at each facility. Then, I made a link on the internal website with a label for each building. We would tell people to go to the internal website and click on the link that represents where they are. This would run the batch file wich was written to copy the updated software libraries from a local (on the same subnet) server to their harddrive instead of having them auto-download them from over the T1s. We've aleady told our 3rd party developer not to force the downloads anymore. But, we need to find a way to force the downloads ourselves so the employess don't have to go to the internal website and click on the appropriate link. I was hoping there would be a way in a longon vbscript (domain logon) that would cause the user to transfer the libraries from the local server to their harddrive based on what location they are at. I want to scroll through my USERS container and for each user, I want to be
able to manually select from a list and return a code that is inserted into
a field in AD for that user... Idealy once selected that field could be
removed from the list. This is a one time deal so does not have to be fancy.
I have my list of names/codes in Excel.
