    - Help with error handling during Copyfolder call I have this script which is part of an installation script. The first time the script runs fine creates the Targetfolder and copies the files When I run the script again it says it completed with an error but how can I print this error to the screen to see what the error is?     - Way to protect serial number for an ActiveX component. It is right in the HTML! In the HTML for a page that needs a component on it, you have to serialize that component. Is there any way in code, ASP, includes, any trick to protect the serial number from being out there for all to see?     - Copy or CopyFile using ftp The script below does not work. I get a file not found error (the file exits). The script works on shared drives but not this ftp IP (Intranet)address.     - Using XML data in an HTML table - help please I am trying to construct a prototype that uses an XML file to fill a table. In the example below I am using inline XML instead of an external file. If I exclude the <item> <itemdata>12345</itemdata> </item> piece, all works fine. Can someone suggest how I can structure the table so that the <item> pieces can be bypassed? If not, (other than editing the XML) is there another way of logically excluding those data elemtents so that the binding works nicely?     - Problem with the space in Session variable Hi, I have a web page that displays records from tables in a database. It is designed to store field's value into Session variables before it displays into a text box. This record can be edited and/or deleted. The problem arises when one of the fields contains spaces between the letters. When it stores into the database, after editing, the space stores as a Question mark. Now, these question marks can only be seen using web interface on my main computer. The only way to see them from any other computer would be to use non-web application.     - Window Server 2003 and Wscript - Shell.Run set oShell = Wscript.CreateObject("Wscript.Shell") ----oShell.Run "\\SERVER\share\WindowsServer-hotfixe-xxx.exe -q -f -o",0,true I'm using the above code to install hotfixes on a server (obviously its a bit more involved than this), and with NT4, 2000, and XP, I can do this and it runs fine. With 2003, it pops open a security dialog box asking me if I "really want to run this". I understand this from a virus protection/trojan standpoint, but it basically halts my server builds since I can't update server 2003 unattended. Batch files don't seem to have this limitation, but that isn't a possibility for what I'm doing. Is there some reg hack I can do so that I can turn this security feature off?     - Changing permissions in folders Hello How I can change the permissions for all subfolders in the same folder with a script? I have Windows 2000 Server and when I add manualy a home directory for a user, a folder will be created with specific permissions (administrator and the user get full control). Now, I create the users with a script and must create the folders with a script too. I suppose it is easy to create the folders, but I want to change the security tab as well. How to do this?     - Add link to My Network Places I am trying to automate adding links to "My Network Places". I am not able to simulate the way the OS creates this link. I am able to create a shortcut using the WshShortcut object, but that does not have the same affect.     - BUG : Attributed ATL and VBScript(Script Control) There is a serious reference counting bug which can occur when using Attributed ATL components inside the Microsoft Script Control. This problem seems to be caused by the fact that internally __VariantChangeType may change the dispatch parameters passed on the Invoke stack, and this is either not allowed, or is unexpected by the Script Control. For example, if a component has a LONG (VT_I4) property, and this property is set by passing it an object (VT_DISPATCH), __VariantChangeType will perform the type conversion, but in the process will also cause the reference count of the passed IDispatch interface to be decremented. I believe the script control is not expecting this, and either does not correctly AddRef the interface before the Invoke call, or will do a Release on it afterwards. This problem does not exist in IDispatchImpl<> which does not change the parameters on the Invoke stack. To reproduce this problem Create a simple attributed ATL component that has a single LONG default (DISPID_VALUE) property. In FinalRelease, get the component to display a message box to indicate that it is being deleted. Create a Visual Basic application that uses the Microsoft Script Control. The script code to be run should set the component default value using the line "obj=obj". This will cause the default value to be retrieved from obj and then set using a parameter type of VT_DISPATCH rather than VT_I4. The script code should be run in response to clicking a command button, after a few clicks, the component reference count will go to zero and delete its self after displaying the message box.     - reload SQL Data when Data Changes Hi, I'm running a company intranet and the portion in question is the company message board. Its becoming a very integral part of company discussion on most of our projects. What I would like to be able to do is have it so that a user can leave the message board opened and minimized and have it alert him in some way when something new has been posted. Unfortunately i dont want to just keep auto-refreshing the page at certain intervals because i'm concerned about xp users (if it refreshes it'll start flashing at them even if there is no new data, this could get annoying). Is there a way to alert the page when posts occur or have the page check the SQL database every so often without fully refreshing the page unless there is a change to the database? I'm using VBScript, ASP, and SQL My page reminds me of a shopping cart but looking at shopping cart examples has not helped! What I have is a page that brings in products ordered by a certain company. Along with those values, I'm creating a text box at the end of each record that a user may or may not enter in an estimated delivery date. If the user does enter in a date I want that row of data submitted to a table with that date. First of all I need to check to see if the user has entered anything in the text boxes. I was trying to go through them with a for next loop using document.form.elements.length as my ending count but that did not seem to work. Also another problem I am facing is making sure all the records on the page are being looked at. I wanted to put my if request.form("submitTop") <> "" underneath where my recordset is open, but this too does not work. So what I need to happen when the submit button is hit is: A way to check and see if something is entered in a text box, if it is then add that line of data pulled from my first table and the user input estimated delivery date value into a new table. I need to make sure I go to each record in my list to check to see if anything has been entered in the text box. Thank you very much. Since each office has its own domain controller I was thinking there might be a way to detect where they are located. Right now everyone has a mapped drive set to their local file server. Some users are complaining that the drive letter assigned for this is interfering with other software. I'm looking for a vbscript solution to determine the domain controller from inside IE.     - frame events attachment duration Hi all, I've made a client-side HTA application page including an Iframe ("myiframe") to navigate on the Web and get and parse content. To detect that myiframe has finished loading the Web pages and I'm allowed to parse content, I used myiframe.onload event with intrinsic attachment, just declaring sub myiframe_onload() ' mycode end sub Everything was fine until I had problem on different PC because IE version 5.0 doesn't fire Iframe onload event (this event fires only from IE 5.5)! So I try to use myiframe.document.onreadystatechange and onclick event but this is a very hard work to learn how and where to place them. I think these events are attached as long as the document is the same. If the document is changed (because a navigation) the attachement is void, so we have to attach the new document events again. I think also these events must be attached after navigation has been programmed because attachment is sticked to a particular document. For onclick event, I use a settimeout statement with a 2 seconds delay after the navigation id asked. 2 seconds is fine because I don't think the user may click the document before 2 seconds after unload. But for onreadystatechange it's more difficult to fix the right delay because sometimes the Web answer is slow, sometimes not (specially if the server use caching) And of course, I navigate to Web pages which have frames... and I have to wait all frames are loaded. Does anyone know how to add a graphic to a hyperlink in
the spreadsheet control for ASP.

I know how todo this in excel using a picture and creating
a hyperlink on it.

But how can I do this in the control?

is this doable?
