    - List of All Programs avaiable in Add/Remove Program in Control Pan Hi All, i want to write a script the should get list of all programs which are available in Add/ Remove Programs in the Control Panel. i tried from WMI script but its returning only those programs which Installed with windows Installer. i have also tried registry Key (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall) but its returning some extra programs which are not available in Add/ Remove progmras list. :( can any body help me.     - Execute line from text file Hello, I read somewhere that there are no i/o functions for vbscript, but I'd like to know if there is a way to execute a specific line from a text file. I have a text file with program paths on each line (no commas or anything breaking each line, but only one program path per line), and I want to execute a specific program, based on the line number.     - HTMLEncode works only in English chars, but not in other UTF-8 languages Hi, I have a textarea which the user can enter whatever text he chooses. <TEXTAREA id=body name=body></TEXTAREA> I would like to avoid supporting HTML tags in this textarea at the moment, therefore I use the following HTML encode support: Dim p_Body : p_Body = Server.HTMLEncode(Request.Form("Body")) This works fine if I write text in latin characters (in English) - than only the HTML tags are encoded.     - Copy selection in active IE window A couple of weeks ago I was asking about using a vbs file to copy the = selection in the active window, whatever application the window happened = to be.     - Startup Script I have written a simple map drive script that would map an N: drive to a remote system on startup. I have modified the gpedit.msc and added the vbs script to run at startup; however, after I reboot the system it ignores the vbs file and dosn't map the drive. The script works fine if I double-click the file within Windows; but, will not run it at startup. The vb5cce compiler was first offered in the late 1990's, and has been kept available for downloading by microsoft (surprisingly) until this year (last tested late spring). Now, the latest link to the download no longer works: http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/sbn/vbcce/vb5ccein.exe although, the vb5cce "help file" download is still there (explain that?): http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/2/5/5253a7ea-1310-40d8-b762-625c2019310e/ccehelp.exe O.K., so here's the question. Does anybody know where the vb5cce compiler download has been moved to, or else know definitively if microsoft has intentionally removed it. Also note, while vb5cce was released in the era of win95, it still works perfectly well on winXP, and so would still serve a useful purpose -- at least for folks who feel that vbScript ought to have had more features than ms doeth provide. Also note(2): yes, microsoft does now provide vb 2005 express edition for free (at least for now), and you can use it to write COM objects callable from script. But, I would assert that vb2005exp is 10-to-100 times more complicated and difficult to code with and get a working object.     - Resolving the names of none windows devices Hi, I have a list of hostnames in a textfile. These are non-Windows devices and we use Bind DNS. I want to resolve those names using a script to an IP Address and write that to a text file. I'm not sure if I can use nslookup or just ping the devices and then add them in to a text file, whichever would be easiest, but in the text file, I need to end up with ONLY the hostname and IP. I have a netsh command I can then run from a for loop in a batch script to add the records to a wins server, to create static entries, which is what I'm after, but I'm stuck on getting the actual hostnames resolved to an IP address.     - Copying folders Hi all, I am learning to use VBScript to create a Windows logon script. Right now, we are in the process of moving from a workgroup to a domain, so everyone has a local profile on the copmuter with their desktop and favorites, etc. What I want to do is have it so that when the users first log on to the domain, it will copy their Desktop and Favorites from their old profile to the new one (in this case it is C:\Docs and Settings\Username to C:\Docs and Settings\Username.MYDOMAIN) Anyway, I thought I had this all nice and good as it worked fine when I tried logging in. When I tried logging in as a different user, however, I get a path cannot be found when I try to grab a folder object (ie objFSO.GetFolder(strSource)). The only thing I can think of is that maybe this is some type of permissions problem? I think this because when I tried to open up C:\Docs and Settings\Username when the user was logged on I get an "Access is Denied Error." I, on the other hand, am an admin/domain admin and have no problem getting to other profiles on this computer. I tried making the user a local admin, but I still got the same problem in the script and still am unable to open C:\Docs and Settings\Username. Any ideas? Thanks for the advice!     - Script works on one Win2000 server but not another I'm trying to troubleshoot a vbs script that runs fine on some Win2000 servers but not others. If I manually run the script it runs fine, but if I let a tool called Big Brother run it, it doesn't return any data. The Big Brother tool should be running it using the system account. It previously returned data until I put a MonthName() requirement in. All servers are Win2000 SP4 and patched up to Aug patches. I've looked at wmimgmt.msc and tried to compare settings. I think I see some security differences there but don't know if I'm even touching this. In comparing a system that works to one that doesn't they are both using wsh 5.6. They may be at different mdac levels if that matters. The script reads a registry setting, separates out the date and compares it to todays date. It then sends updates based on the results to the Big Brother tool. We have wireless access on campus, and our student must go through a process
to setup their wireless. They must add a network, set it as WPA and TKIP, use
PEAP, etc. It is all basically clicking or filling in a few boxes... Can this
by scripted using vbscript?
