    - Encapsulating Objects in Objects? I have an AppHandler class that I want to encapsulate other handler classes (GuiHandler, WmiHandler, etc.) as public properties of the object, so they can be used like this: Set oApp = new AppHandler oApp.NetworkHandler.PingIp sIp AppHandler, when created, would dynamically load and create the encapsulated objects.     - ACLing the MSMQ Hi all, I wrote a script that creates a private Message Queue but I am having a problem giving an individual user full access permissions to this Queue. I looked it up online and I haven't had much success as far as non C++ and C# exists (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms706138.aspx) Does anyone know how I can do this?     - Verify existence of computer object I'm writing a script that will allow a Help Desk user delete an Active Directory computer object prior to its re-imaging. My script binds to the containing OU then calls the Delete method of that OU, naming the computer object to be deleted. The script works fine. My question regards error-handling in the case that the computer object has already been deleted from Active Directory (say, the user already ran the script). The default error message is verbose, but probably a little scary to a non-scripter. I've been trying to find a way to verify the existence of a computer object BEFORE attempting to delete it so that I can include my own error message. (The Err object seems to have a blank description when a deletion fails because the object doesn't exist.)     - last login for only members of a group... i was asked by our audit compliance team to make sure that all of our contractors' domain accounts get disabled after 15 days of inactivity. they were initially in a sub-ou in active directory until i created a security group for them (which i've found makes for easier scripting). i'm fairly new to scripting, but i've managed to get a list of the users in the contractors group, and get the last logon date for all users in the domain. i can't seem to narrow the search to just members of the contractors group, though. script that follows lists all users in the domain that have a last logon date of over 15 days. any ideas? thanks in advance.     - Detect shutdown type I have a shutdown script through Group policy that does some tidying up and defrags the hard drives before allowing the shutdown to complete.     - Script To Determine If A Workstation Is Up I have a script that verifies who is logged on to a remote workstation (by checking for the explorer process and checking the owner). I check for an error on the query which will tell me if the machine is not up (or at least not on the network). It is working pretty well, but in the case of a workstation not being up it can take a minute or two to fail and then report that the machine is not up. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a faster way to determine if a machine is up or not.     - VBScript, OpenTextFile(), Strings and Unicode - Possible? Hi, I've written a VBScript to manually update the version number in an AssemblyInfo.cs file. But all I get from the ReadAll() function is rubish. The string I'm assigning the function result to only contains loads of empty squares when watched from within Visual Studio Debugger. I can't even write the string back without modifications into the AssemblyInfo.cs file. Visual Studio shows only a bunch of Chinese characters when opening the saved file. (Perhaps the result of a new espionage attempt by the Axis of Evil? :) ) Moreover, I cannot modify the string. To VBScript the string doesn't seem contain anything near to a valid character. Can anybody help me on how to access and save the Unicode file's content from within VBScript?     - Size of Graphics and Text I am getting some complaints about how my pages are looking around the school district. On some XP machines (not all) and Vista machines my graphics are appearing very small, about 15% of the size on the 2000 machines. Also my text is smaller.     - Export Active Directory Hi all, I would like to develop a VBScript in order to export the content from different organisational units within Active Directory. I would like this script to be able to run on Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 Operating Systems. Within Active Directory I have an organisational unit which is called ComputersGPO with other organisational units within representing room numbers.     - Determining Permission Inheritaance I have a very large shared folder, 68GB - 10,000 sub-folders - 115,000 files. For the past few years permissions on this share have been controlled by the share owner. Needless to say the permissions are a mess, there were no groups created so users have been added directly to folders at various levels. I have been tasked with cleaning up the mess with very minimal impact to the users. I tried writing a script to determine permissions using <see below> but, due to the size of the share, the script isn't practical. I need to write a script that can look at inheritance and output a list of permissions that are not being inherited from the parent. Basically something that shows me where permissions are explicitly granted. Is this possible or am I stuck with an impossible task?     - Create Object of an Application type and invoke on Remote Computer Hi Friends, Badly need help in this case, I have a software installed on a remote computer and I want to create object of that application type and invoke it on that machine from local machine. I was successfully able to modify DCOM object on the remote machine to allow connection.. here is what I achieved.. I am able to create object and invoke the application on the remote machine only if I have the same application installed on the local machine. If I dont have that application installed on local system then it gives me Active X cannot Create Object. I would like to write to a log file all the changes that are made then email that log file to the mailbox that was just trimmed.
