    - Get Current Directory using CSCRIPT v5.1 Hello, I am trying to retrieve the current directory using (CSCRIPT v5.1): Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") strCurrDir = objShell.CurrentDirectory I get "object does not support this property or method." When I use CSCRIPT v5.5 ==> it runs. I am not going to be able to upgrade the version of CSCRIPT on the system that will be running this script.     - Referencing user-defined fields in outlook Typical ... I lose patience looking for an answer on the web, but as soon as I post the query I come across the information wanted (or some of it) To access a user-defined field I can use the syntax item.Userproperties.find("fieldname") It would still be useful to come upon a list of the standard fileds if anyone knows a reference. Having started in this way - perhaps I'm trying to crack a nut with a sledgehammer... I want to present a central user with a form with tickbox and text box entries - but then I want the 'send' action to reformat this information as text and put it in the message of the email (or body). I assumed that outlook was the best place to create a form as this is purely being created to build a mail message. there's no point in sending the script itself in the email though - is there any way I can get outlook to delete the script in the outbound email.     - detect printer spooler crashing hello all, hope you all are well. just wondering does anyone know a way using VBScript to detect the print spooler is down. the problem is that when the spooler crashes - it's state remain "running" is there a way to send data[a request] to the spooler , wait , then somehow test output from the spooler to determine if it is really running or not. i don;t know much about spoolers so im not sure if this is possible[should be though] and i don't know what kind of data/request would be ideal to send to it. something along the lines of: 1) send data to spooler. 2) spooler processes info. 3) spooler sends out info [whatever info this is would determine if it was crashed] - ie, if nothing returned and it should therefore spooler down. i know its all a bit vague but if anyone can help i'd be delighted. thanks all.     - Newbie Question - referencing user-defined fields Dear All You will save me a lot of heartache if you can direct me to a reference which describes how to reference items in an outlook form (particularly user-defined fields). I only want to create a really simple form but I've hit a brick wall in my experimentation. For some reason the Outlook VBScript help isn't installed on my machine at work (I downloaded something from microsoft which pueports to be vbscript help but this doesn't give an outlook info) I've seen similar questions mentioned here but no response (which doesn't bode well) ... perhaps there isn't much outlook expertise around... All I want to do is have a form but then use VBscript to transfer the input from the user-defined fields in to the body of the email prior to transmission. The Functions are pretty much descriptive - but I can't work out how to address the fields on the form I've found that the Subject is referenced as item.Subject (easy enough), that CC is referenced as item.CC (still simple) the message is referenced as item.Body (Mmmm) but how are the user-defined fields referenced and is there a list of all the standard fields and their references. sorry bout this - this is the sort of stuff that I should be able to glean from help material or sample scripts, but I can't seem to find any such material.     - Troubles with Menu Hello All, I'm having trouble with a popup menu that I use a RightClick event. The menu pops fine, but I still get the default RightClick menu from IE.     - WSH 5.0 equivalents to AppActivate and SendKeys Hi, I'm automating MSINFO32.EXE and while on machines with WSH 5.6 installed things are working as expected, we have some machines with older versions which don't appear to support AppActivate and SendKeys. I can create and instance ("Run") of MSINFO32 but need to know how to "speak" to it. Does anyone know where to find documentation for earlier versions of WSH - the Microsoft site doesn't appear to have anything this old. If you have suggestions on ways to make it shorter, cleaner, better, please add your comments. I'm attempting to query a webpage, export the page to an Excel spreadsheet, and save. The code uses three input files for now (to account for multiple backup servers and various dns naming conventions and the list of servers to check). Ultimately, the information will be pulled directly out of the SQL database, but being impatient and wanting to learn more about VB, VBA, and VBScript, I've been tinkering. I creating folders using FileSystemObject and setting rights on the network using as asp page that uses softartisans product "FileManager" with latest version which allow me to create a folder in network and set the network group's right, like ReadOnly, Full Access....., and so on. I found out that there is no functionality of "FileManager" to set "Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object" to FALSE under the tab "Security" of the Folder I created with FileManager. Is there any other way that I can uncheck the "allow inheritable permissions from parent.." through my asp page. I cannot use registry to uncheck because I do not want to uncheck to all the folders but I need to uncheck only those folders that I created using my asp page.Any idea ?     - Provider Error when running a script on a W2K server I have a script that runs a w/s. It FTP's IIS logs from hence W/S runs script that looks for files on ServerA then FTPs them to ServerB. If I try to run the script on ServerC I get a provider error when I do a function that does a search for logs with a modifieddate of -1 . I tried impersonation and that didn't work either. Hi guys i'm back again!! i'm having a small problem with refreshing my form after saving data in my database! here's what i'm trying to do: * In my UpdateDB.asp form i display my database records and the user can make changes on whatever record he wants; * after he'll have to save changes by hitting the save button on the form; * when i receive the "save" action, i update the database; set a session variable that i'll use later to true ( Session("UpdateDB")= TRUE) and DISABLE the Save Button. *once i'm done with it i reset my session variable to false ( Session("UpdateDB")= FALSE); and WOULD LIKE to "ENABLE" the save button; but i can't. Everything works just fine but i can't "ENABLE" my save button???? how can i refresh the page and get back the save button ?? i thought that after resetting my session variable to false would help me but i don't know how to use it??     - A Variable vs. Request.Form Question Hello. I have a form where some of the field names are generated based on the name of files. This form is being sent via email, and therefore, an ASP page is handling the mailing, etc. This is going to be hard to explain. This system is for ordering photos where the user can select an image, select the size, and type the quantity. When done, the user will submit the information which is emailed. There are wallet size, 4x5, 5x7, etc. I'm having trouble with a piece of code regarding the variables. I'm using the filesystem object to generate a listing of files in a directory, and then, based on the type of photo, will check to see if a quantity has been entered, and then output the size, with the image name, along with the quantity ordered. So, for example, the form will create a field with a name of "Wallets002.jpg" which is for wallet size of image name 002.jpg. In order for me to test to see if the field has a value in it, I'm first creating a variable that will contain a value that is the same as what was generated by form: 'Create a variable that has the name of the field from the form. strImageName is in a loop using the filesystem object to grab the name of the first file. Prepend it with the size of the photo. strFieldValueWallets = "Wallets" & strImageName 'Check to see of the field is empty If NOT IsEmpty(Request.Form("" & strFieldValueWallets & "")) Then Mailer.BodyText = "Wallet Size of image: " & strImageName Mailer.BodyText = "Quantity: " & Request.Form("" & strFieldValueWallets & "")) End If I then go on to do the same thing, but check for the 4x5 size, then 5x7, etc. Is this kosher? Is the variable strFieldValueWallets created totally separate from the Request.Form("" & strFieldValueWallets & ""))? I can get it to display the value placed in the field, but I can't get it to ignore the field if it has no value in it.     - dump one dimension from .GetRows GetRows always returns a two dimensional array. In my case the I sometimes redimension the second dimension and add additional values manually. I may then need to sort it and remove duplicates. Is there a way to redimension the array returned by GetRows and remove the first dimension keeping only the second? Is copying the array values into a new array the only way? I have come up with the code below, but I can not get it to show the serial number that the computer uses for the input date. The date keeps getting converted to the systems (short) date format. I developed the script on a Win2K machine that has WSH installed on it.     - Date Range Hi I have a booking form where people enter a FromDate and a ToDate and select a recurring day like Tuesday. So that data is for instance 7-jul-2003 to 28-jul-2003 and recurring on Tuesday. I'm presently writting an installer for an application. It installs 6 complus applications along with other things. I need to set the identity of each of them with a specific username/password (the same for all). I would like to ask username and password just after the install once and set it on each complus module. Is it possible in a VBScript?
