 - Determining if a user is a member of a group I am trying to check to see if a user is in a given Group. I assume I should be looking up the Memberof field and have the lin If (instr(varProp, "CN=TestGroup") > 0 )The This works fine where the user is the member of one other group besides their Primary group but when they are are a member of two or more groups I get a type mismatch.  - Zip + email: vbscript or simple batch? Is there a simple method of calling winzip etc. from vbscript or should i use a simple batch file instead? The "problem" is that customer would like to have a vbscript for some reason to do this operation, which is a simple zipping of logfiles which would be automatically sent via email to customer, and as I see it, a batch file would do the trick as well. This might seem a stupid question, but I'd just like to have an opinion.  - Save As Dialog Can't be Automated - ExecWB The Save As dialog cannot be automated using VBScript in WSH. There are at least three problems with this dialog when using ExecWB. 1. The dialog will always be visible and require intervention of the user: OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER is broken and does nothing. 2. The path to the file is in all circumstances ignored. You may as well use NULL. 3. There is no way to change the file type to be saved. The only input parameter is supposed to be for the file name and path, which as I said is completely broken. The only way to get a dialog with all applicable file types present is by using OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER. Here is my code.  - computer startup script I am trying to write a computer startup script that will be pushed out through group policy. I want to check if a key exist in the registry. If it does then exit if not add the key. I can run this from my desktop and it works but it doesnt have the if statement. We taught about creating a vbscript script that would take command line arguments and create the word document according to those parameters. For some reason, certain things work, otheres do not. When we try to call some word.application or word.document methods, the script interpreters gives an error.  - Submit vbscript array contents in form Hi I have a page with a form and a results page. My form: <form name = "theform" action="results.asp" method="post"> Part of the form is 5 dropdown boxes, which the user selects a value from and clicks a button. Clicking the button adds the 5 values to a 2 dimensional array, and each line of the array is then displayed in a select box with each element seperated with || such as 1||2||3||4||5.  - Strange Characters in file I'm using vbscript to create a flat file. At the beginning of the file a hex '255'. What should be there is teh beginning of my data. I've used both Write and WriteLine to output the data.  - RSLinx and asp. I need a help (either pointers to where to post this message,or actual pointers on my problem). I'm getting very frustrated in here. I decided to write the interface between RSLinx and microsoft IIS. It seems that every time I'm almost there I stumble on yet another ?GOT YOU !!!'. I'm beginning to think that it is simply impassible to create the .asp page which will be able to post or get the data to and from RSLinx. (all the processing to be done on the web server) There are a dozens of activex components that could be utilized for this function, but to me it looks like those components have no right to work insight the .asp page this is why (and please correct me if I'm wrong pointing me to the resource o the web which proves it ) : 1.OPC is riding on top of the DDE. 2.Every call made from the asp page is running in it's own memory space without the actual application space. Which means that it can not communicate with the DDE or OPC server running under the different memory space. (even if it runs as the service) I think that most of the ActiveX components are designed to interface with the DDE/OPC servers running and accessible from within the same program and application space. And because of that, all of them are functioning perfectly well when called from within the client application running on the desktop with the forms, and text boxes behind. I have not seen one single working example on the call from within the asp page running on the Microsoft server which has the OPC/DDE server installed on it. I have created a simple DDE to RSLinx ActiveX control using the VB6 build DDE support . Worked fine on the client did not work in the asp. Then I created the ActiveX control that talks to the RSLinx over the DDE using the DDClient controls ? no problem works fine as the client VB application, refuses to work as the asp. So at the end I have build the VB6 ActiveX dll which was using the RSLinx objects. Again the same problem ? goes ?belly up' if called from within the asp, perfectly fine from the application running on the console. Before I waste any more time and invest any $ for the third party components that claim to work I would like to ask the ?world' to prove me that I'm wrong and interfacing RSLinx to the WWW is realy passible. (some simple working and tested code will be much appreciated) I'm willing to start a new project and distribute the code under the GPL if needed. And please reply to the post and only if you know that the information is corect. What I found is that there is a lot of the answers to the usenet groups which are not productive. /Babak babak at op.pl PS. I want to let you know that I even went as far as reconfiguring the account under which my IIS is running so it is not I_USR anymore. I even made the new www service account as the administrator of the box, I logged in to the server with that account ( so the registry is populated for that user). In my activex component class I also created a basic function that returns some values ? in order to test the correct component registration. I can still make the ADO and FS references but every time any type of the reference to RSLinx or DDE happens it goes belly up. I have no $ to spend on the RSLinx SDK, and quite frankly I'm affrait that even if I spend those $ I will still be in the same point which I'm in right now.  - tool to show all sql from Access DB (ADO)? Does anyone have vbscript to report all the Query names and full sql statements in an Access DB? I'm not particularly interested in any report related sql just for those found in the query window. I have many Access databases and sometimes need to document what they contain or to look for queries using certain tables. Access also can contain stored procedures. Is it possible to read this sql also?  - Excel Script for Data Porting (please advise) I am going to attempt to write a script that can pull data and enter it into another program with drop down boxes, radios, fill ins etc. My question is three part 1.IS THIS POSSIBLE? 2.WHAT DO I NEED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS (in terms of source for the database into which I want to post the data, as in object names of boxes/radios etc) 3. What is the best language to use to do this in. If it is not VBscript. Basically I have been handed this huge Excel document and been asked to enter it into a database by hand.  - ASP Treeview SQL Server - URGENT NEED! Hello. I am trying to find a NON .NET answer to using a treeview control with ASP. I am able to use this contror without issue in VB but ASP presents an entirely different set of isssues. I can get the treeview to populate based upon my recorset pulled from the SQL Server but cannot get the value of the clicked node to appear in the test input box. (This is the prelude to the actual working of the click of the node. Once I capture the value on the page - the processing can begin.) I also cannot seem to get my picture/icon to show at the apptopriate node level. This is mostly because I don't seem to be able to get the imagelist control to work properly. <sigh> I could really use a simple, working example.  - Domain Migration (NT4 to W2k3) I am working on a script which will remove a computer from an NT 4.0 domain and add it to a new W2k3 Active Directory domain. Microsoft has a sample script (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/scriptcenter/compmgmt/scrcm31.ms px) which shows how to join the workstation to a domain, but I believe I have to remove the account from the old domain before adding to the new. The return code I get after running this script above (of course changing the necessary variables) is 2691. And the result is the computer is still in the old NT 4.0 domain and no account added to the new AD. Any help would be appreciated...  - Issues with Running VBS Script during Login for Users I'm fairly new to VB Scripting and am just seeing how far I can push it. I've created a script that will help my co-workers and I update the IP information on about 1500 computers in our corporation. To make the automation fully complete, we'd like to add it to run in the Novell Login script that runs when each user logs in. The problem is the user won't have admin rights to make the necessary updates. I'm looking for suggestions on ways to get around this. I've thought of a couple ways, and have done some research into it...but not found a solid solution to make this work. We're hoping to make it a free solution as well. The best way I can think of is to use a 3rd Party (freeware) "Run As Different User" (that's a scriptable version of the Microsoft "RunAs" - The problem with this is the program can't see the network drive that the Script is Mounted on (because its mounted as "Limited User", and the script is running as an "Admin User") I have yet to figure out the work-around for this. Other drawbacks to this is the admin password is out there in an (encrypted) file... its not a big worry for us, but it is a vulnerability.  - Checking a password protected word doc We have an automated system that converts word etc to HTML, we are having a problem with it failing on password projected word documents. (web upload, backend processing and web delivery) We have tried many options with no sucess, what we would like is a wsh script / asp or other that can look at a word document and just return a yes or no as to whether it is protected, we can then refuse to upload it, until the user has removed the protection. Hi Everyone,

I have put together a vbscript that creates a new user in our active
directory domain (W2K), sets properties, creates an exchange mailbox
for the user etc

What I am unable to set is the mailbox size limits found in that users
properties, in active directory > exchange general > storage limits.

I want to be able to have these limits set as part of the script.

Anyone have any ideas?
