    - Read Text File into Excel Using VBA or VBScript Hi All, I'm a new VBA programmer. I know how to pull an entire text file into an Excel Spreadsheet, but I only want specific information from the text file not the entire text file. What I have is about 25 text files stored in a folder, let's say C:\test. Each file is named by a property address as follows: 209 MAIN ST.txt 213 MAIN ST.txt 111 ELM ST.txt 2356 WOOD AVE.txt On the 11th row of each file is as follows: Property Address:209 MAIN ST On the 31st row of each file is as follows: Total Value:30500 What I would like to do is read each file located in the "C:\test folder and write a record (row) into a single Excel Spreadsheet for each property. I would like the Excel Spreadsheet to look as follows once completed. Note the 1st row below is a header row that needs to be generated by the code. Property Address Total Value 209 MAIN ST 30500 213 MAIN ST 60700 111 ELM ST 20400 2356 WOOD AVE 20900 Can I read a header list (in a spreadsheet, text file, or hard coded in the code) which I would prefer the spreadsheet or text file method, write the header row in A1 then B1. Next read the 25 text files and search based on the header info written above (Property Address & Total Value) and write the appropriate to the single spreadsheet. The 11th row of the First text file value written in cell A2, then read the 31st row of the First text file write the value in cell B2, then loop to the Second text file and values from The 11th row of the Second text file value written in cell A3, then read the 31st row of the Second text file write the value in cell B3, so on and so forth until the last text file is read and the last record is written.     - getting type mismatch with array I'm building a treeview page that is generated and expanded as the user opens links from it, and am using an array stored in a session variable to maintain the tree.     - ASP Pages accessing databse issue I am attempting to retrieve a value from a database and populate a textbox on my html form. This code appears to run fine without error but i do not get any value in my textbox. Im very new to ASP and im having to change an existing system. If i do not put my vbscript code at the bottom of the screen then my page will not render correctly. Can anyone please help me ???     - populating AD fields from pick list I want to scroll through my USERS container and for each user, I want to be able to manually select from a list and return a code that is inserted into a field in AD for that user...     - how to create directories? I am unsure as to how to do this without creating a long winded script. I want check to see if a directory or 2 directories exist and if they don't then create them. ie: dir1 \ dir2 \ dir 3 \dir 4 \ dir 5 So dir1 exists but 4 & 5 don't and neither do 2 + 3.     - vbscript error accessing database client or server ?? I am trying to run the following vbscript code (see SCRIPT CODE below) using an onclick event on a button(see BUTTON CODE below). I am getting the "error: object expected" at the button code line. Is there a fundamental problem with my script , i.e. trying to run a server side script using a button or is there merely a coding error???     - using variable in Where clause I am trying to create a script that will kill a process based on the process name which is passed to the script as a cli argument. The following code snippet works fine if the process name is hardcoded in the script, but I can't assign the process name to a variable and use that in the ExecQuery command. I have that working but on each pc that I connect to I need to specify a different path. ie c:\documents and settings\bob or \larry or \susan I am talking about %username% = bob,larry, and susan but Im not sure how I can do that. there is not connection between the computername and username. I am in a 2003 ad domain but Im not sure how I can link the two. Each computer has 2-3 different users on them but should only have 1-2 possibly 3 that have been used to logon to the domain.     - Uploading a File from a Form as Stream I am working on a Library Administration web page. The page provides the capability to add, edit, replace, suspend/activate, and delete documents from the site Library. The user selects a function and the form is dynamically produced using XML and the .innerHTML functionality. My problem is I need to be able to allow the upload of a file without actually submitting the form. All functionality of this admin interface is based on using the CreateObject("MSXML2.XMLHTTP") functionality, sending XML back and forth from client to server so the page does not have to reload. Is there a way to alter the resutls page that MBSA generates to make the
links to the needed patches on a local system or a USB key instead of it
pointing to WU?

We are trying to patch systems off our network and if we could get MBSA
to point to an offilne storage that would be great. Or being able to
parse a txt file that MBSACLI generates and then have a script chain the
needed patches together would be even better!
