    - Deleting a Contact from AD Please help! I have been trying to get the following code to work, which should loop through two OU's and delete any duplicates from the 2nd OU. It is failing on the objOU2.Delete line with "An Invalid dn syntax has been specified". This error normally indicates an invalid LDAP string has been used, but I can echo the contents of objContact1.cn and objContact2.cn as it iterates through the loops just fine. Can anyone help me understand why the delete will not work, and suggest another way I might can make this work. Thanks!     - Waiting if TermService is started Hallo, i have the following problem, i have a Windows TS 2003 with 3 Clients. On startup the 3 clients autoconnect to the TS2003. But the problem is, when all 4 machines start at the same time, the 3 Clients start faster than the TS, the get an errormessage, when the try to connect to the TS. So i tried to write a script, which waits if the TermService is startet (Status=4), and afterwars connects to the Server. But the problem is, if the TS is down, the Script can't create the Object "objComputer" and it jumps in the IF (see below). Is there a way to ask if the Object "objComputer" is created correctly?     - errReturn RUNAS and SendKeys Hi I need to send a CD out to some home users with software updates. The updates need to run under the local admin account but there are 2 possible local admin passwords in use. I need my script to attempt installation with the first admin password and if this fails then use the second (and if for some reason the second fails then to popup an error. I've tried writing it like below but the errReturn doesn't seem to work and the script just waits for the password input, it doesn't seem to get the input automatically from SendKeys. I know I can get round this by specifiying FALSE in my errReturn but if I specifiy FALSE then errReturn will always be 0 so it will never attempt the second admin password. strComputer = "."     - Checking for empty directory I've done a lot of unix shell scripting and awk/sed work but I'm new to the vbscript world. The software uninstallation part is rudimentary but works well enough and, as yet, there's nothing you can do to the local users but I've had (mostly) positive feedback from the people that have used it.     - Drag folder onto script to get folder's path I'm a newbie to scripting, so please be gentle. I place the script below in my SendTo folder, and use it to get the full name + path of files, i.e., I right click the file and then select "send to", and then select the script below. The script puts the full name + path into the Windows clipboard. I can't figure out how to modify the script so that I could right click on a folder (instead of a file), in order to get the folder's path reported into the Windows clipboard.     - How to change permissions on folders Hello , Is there anybody out there : that has experience on changing the persmissions on folders using vbscript ? The reason I am asking this : I need to make script that puts the permission on a folder for user to read/write. At this stage the user can only view docs but he can't change anything. I'm trying to use the Web Service in Microsoft Reporting Services to generate a report to PDF on a file share. I'm using server side vbscript (or jscript) to do this, and using Microsoft Soap Toolkit 3.0 to access the Web Service. I have made a start on the vbscript (see below), and have an RSS scripting batch file to work from to build the rest of the script. Most of this batch file script looks straightforward to convert. However my problem is more to do with knowing how to make soap calls, in particular to create a variable of a datatype that (I'm assuming) is not available on the client but on the server where RS is installed. In this case I need to create variables of type ParameterValue in the vbscript, as shown in the RSS file. How do I do this?     - Changing Default Gateway Is it possible to change the default gateway in the TCP-IP settings, using VB-script? On my children's computer, I would like to have one account that has access to the internet, the other account should have no access to the internet (including MSN etc.).     - MSHTA.EXE orphaned when HTA is closed I read several threads on the NET regarding a situation where MSHTA.EXE would become orphaned when the HTA is closed. In that thread there was a reply from a Michael Harris (MVP) indicating that the behavior stems from the use of WshShell.Run statements. According to Mike, calling RUN breaks the modal nature of the event handlers making the mshta UI closable when the RUN method is still waiting but when the UI cloes the mshta.exe process gets orphaned and never terminates. I too have seen this behavior in an HTA I am writing that uses WshShell.Run statements and I believe that I may have a solution that works providing that the user terminated the HTA through a button on the HTA itself.     - logon script for desktop shortcuts Greetings, I'm looking for a simple vbscript that I can run when the user logs on to the network (applied through GPO) to ensure that My Documents, My computer, my network places, Recycle Bin, and Internet Explorer shortcuts are present on the desktop.     - Need to change user account mid-script I need to run a process as the local system account (this script is scheduled via the at command, by the way) and then mid-stream, jump to impersonating the logged on user. The reason for doing this is I need to copy a file generated by the SYSTEM account to a network share. Since the machine doesn't have delegation enabled in AD, it cannot copy as the system account.     - Launch VBS remotely Hi, Is there a way to launch a vbs file remotely. I know there is a way to create a process remotely. It works fine for .exe files, but for .msp (package) and .vbs files, it is not working. I see the task being added in the task manager on the target computer but there is no activity.     - Script for shortcut to mapped drives on desktop Hello Group, I'm a little new to scripting and am asking for some help writing a script. What I would like to do is to create a logon script for users in a windows 2003 domain running XP on the desktops that would place a shortcut to their mapped network drives on the desktop. So each user would have three mapped drives, 1 for their home folder, 1 for the public folder and another drive for an apps folder. So basically when a user logs into the domain the script will place shortcuts to thesed mapped drives on the desktop regardless of what PC they log into. We are using roaming profiles.     - VBscript Not Printing Watermark in Word Doc I'm using: oWordActiveDoc.PrintOut (further script copied below) in VBScript to print out a document from a Word (2000) object. It works and the document arrives at the printer. However for some reason the watermark in the Header/Footer of the document doesn't print out. What I see is a small broken image placemark in the top left corner of where the real image is supposed to be (similar to what you see in a web browser when an image is missing). When the document was created the image was inserted into the header/footer as a linked image file within a textbox. So I suspect this has something to do with the problem, but it prints properly if printed manually. Does anyone know what might be going wrong? be asked to type in there Extension NO and Department and write all this in
to the MS Access file for me to publish in the intranet.

Script should read Users name from the login ID and write that to file too
without allowing user to amend there name.

Are you interested in learning how to write such a script, or are you
expecting that someone will volunteer to write your script for you with the
small amount of detail you have given?
