    - registry and speach marks ie: "...." Can anyone help me with identifying how to get speech marks into the registry without giving me an error. I have the following i would like to place in the registry. "cmd.exe /c MD "%1\NewFolder"" The problem is that by putting the original " " marks at the beginning and the end of the code seems to limit putting "%1\NewFolder" around this parameter, which is important in this instance.     - STDERR and STDOUT redirection from within a vbs script Hello, I have to use some vbs script, lauching them from within another application i'm coding in err ... another language :) Is there a simple way to force redirection of STDOUT and STDERR from within the vbs script ? That is I'm looking for some instructions to add at the begining of the vbs script, that will take 2 filenames as arguments and afterwards redirect the stderr and stdout to these files. I used ASP classic (the non-dotnet kind) to access domain objects with getobject("WinNT://"... stuff.     - Loading mulitple files Below is an example of gathering informtion from a xml file. The file is a template with stored values that will be used for comparision. Now that I have my intitial values how can I look at a directory with multiple xml files and do a verify that the template values match each xml files value. I kinda of an idea how to approach but not sure with vbscript. I think I need to add another For Each statement to grab all the files in some directory. Then open each xml file and grab the xml data the same way as below. Where I am getting confused is when I open a xml from directory and grab values is actually comparing the template data to the xml file opened. I planned on creating a error log everytime I read thorugh an xml and the versions do not match template. The directory where all the xml files are located are named ComputerName.xml.     - Submit form results to access database and email form results. I'm very much a novice, but here is the scenario. I've used Frontpage XP to create a form that saves the results to an Access database. We can then access the results and edit them when needed using the Frontpage database editor. What I would like is for the confirmation page to email the results (or specific fields) from the form to our help desk so we can be notified when a new record has been added.     - SENDKEYS + Batch Process Hi All!!!! as u could see in this subject, this is a little weird problem.. lol This is it: I created a .vbs file, it runs a batch process opening an Internet Explorer Window, logs in an external website , and upload a file from this comp ( where i have the vbs file ) The first problem i had : when i navigate a HTTPS URL , it ask for the certificate window and i had to click YES manually .. so i used the SENDKEYS to send 2 TABs and one ENTER to step over that window.. it worked The second problem : On the upload page, i had to browse the file to upload. HTML doesnt let u write in a FILE control Value. So i used again the SENDKEYS to send the full path of the file to upload. It worked. Now the Actual Problem : this computer has to be locked while the process runs.. so.. the sendkeys doesnt work becouse the focus it s on the windows login window.     - Print File I am interesting in allowing the user to select some information from a web form ... and then based on that input perform was database queries and then print a job to a windows queue. I 'googled' on many topics to determine how best to perform the print portion of this - but had no luck. I'm contemplating taking the user's input, query the database and then create the appropriate xml to send to the queue. The queue is being monitored and can utilize the xml to print the job appropriately. He got a message that "some files were blocked" when he extracted the zip, and the VBS files were not extracted!     - VBS does not run in Schediled Task if user is not logged in runas I have a Win 2003 Server runnig the same script I was using On win 2000 Server. This script is set to run as a local admin and will only execute if the local admin is logged in. I have made a small script just to test this and it exibits the same issues. spin.vbs For i = 1 to 100000 next ST command line = c:\windows\system32\cscript.exe c:\temp\spin.vbs when this executes and the local admin is logged in the SCH Task GUI status indicates running while the script is spinning and the result = 0x0. BUT when another admin is logged in and teh ST executes Status stayes blank and result = 0x1. Conduting the same test with notepad both cases show Status running then result 0x0.     - Loading your settings failed Error message Right now I am receiving an the error: "Loading your settings failed (access is denied)" when trying to run a .vbs file. I have looked at other suggestions that stated to look at the HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS SCRIPT HOST permissions and all of the permissions are correct, meaning I am an administrator on this machine and administrators have full access to the registry key. In short, you can not unlock a computer from a batch or script.

Technically you would not need to unlock a computer in order to run a batch
process on it, you can even install various applications\hotfixes remotely
without have someone logged on.

What are you trying to accomplish in your batch that would require it to be
unlocked?

It just has to do an upload of a file to a remote site.. so , i used the
sendkeys to send the path on the file value... couse for security reazons u
cannot access in other way.. so... if the machine is locked.. the sendkeys
doesnt works
