    - Login Script to Display Message to User I am new to VbScript/WSH, but have some past logic experience. I understand how to execute login scripts, but not how to write a script to accomplish my task. I have Windows XP/Windows 2003 Server. Our attorneys feel the need for all users to get a message at login about computer usage and ownership, and want this info to display at login. I am in the process of reading the doc from the Scripting area. Can someone direct me generally how to go about his, and if it is possible. I think I could display some text at login with echo, but need something more attractive. Any help and direction appreciated.     - Scripting Hello, I want to add scripting to my application. By scripting I mean that the user of my application could write a script ( code) and guide the way that my application is doing things. The script should support programming structures such as if then else, while, for, and variable assignment and also functions. The user may write code to call functions in my code or in the DLLs that I am writing. In this way user can control what they wanted to do by writing a script. My requirement is very similar to VBA in office. Can I use VB scripting? If yes, where can I find how I can add its capability into my application? Is there any tutorial on a sample application that show me how I can do this? Is there any support for such scripting in Windows that I can use with MSVC? I know that I can write use YACC and LEX or their variant tot build a new grammar but I prefer that I use a well know scripting language.     - Importing Information from Excel to AD Hello, I have written the following script to populate user info into AD. It imports info fine for some of the fields... Particularly I am having trouble with the "description" field. I have deduced that when I have a number (620) it fails. If I change it to a620 everything seems to zip right along. I have tried changing the format of the Excel cell, and changing it to a .csv file to rule out something goofy with Excels formatting. If I go directly to AD and edit the field it takes numbers without any qualms. Am I missing something, or is AD incapable of handling numbers being imported into this field?     - Move a user into an OU while logging on Hi everyone. I am trying to move a user into a designated OU using a login script before the group policy settings are run for that user, but the group policy settings always seem to run against the OU the user is assigned to before the move. Basically, the routine I have created, checks some information in a SQL server database and if there is information missing, I want the user only have access to a limited desktop until the SQL server information has been updated. The user can then log off (or re-run a check without logging off if possible) and log back on in order to access a standard desktop. Does this sound possible? I have spent days going round in circles, but before anyone suggests a logout routine, I've been down that road. The SQL server routine is based on a daily check, so the logout theory works during the current day, but as soon as the next day comes around, the data is out of date again without the user doing anything.     - VBScript and autoit. I've read the Groups here and found that you can use AutoIt within VBScripts. But what is required. Do I first need to do something like: Set oAutoIt = CreateObject("AutoItX.Control") and register the AutoIT dll.     - Compare profile/logon script on accounts on old domain/AD domain I need to develop a script that will compare a user account in an old NT4 domain to the new AD domain to see if the logon script entry matches. I will need to have input boxes for the NT and AD domains. If the entry does not match I will log it to a text file.     - Show me your... Logon Script Hey guys, I have been constantly working and reworking my logon script for my enterprise network here and I am always looking for better ways of doing things. Currently drives are mapped and files copied using security groups and thats where it gets tricky. How do you cycle through all the groups the user is in without slowing down the script? So I was wondering what you guys do? Could you post a snipet of your logon script code?     - Help Me Fix Script Months ago I used the following vbs script to extract all the ID3 tags from a directory and put them in a tab delimited file. The file could then be opened in a spreadsheet. I lost the script but was able to locate a version on the internet that may not be complete. I don't even remember how to use it. Can someone look at the script, tell me if it is complete and how do I use it? I find reference to the output file but I'm not sure how to associate it with the directory. BTW: as you can see I am not a VBS programmer. I have looked into manipulating the right-click menu but I can't be removing valid menu options. I need to know how to collect a terminal services/citrix client IP address and match it to a network# from a list to determine what printers to map for that user. The problem is that I need this script to work even if there isnt a terminal service/citrix client ip. In that case it would need to use the system IP that the user is logged onto.     - Running VBScript in Scheduler without logging in I have a simple VBScript that calls up MS Access, runs a macro to retrieve data from an ODBC database, and then calls up MS Excel, and runs a macro to format the retrieved data. If I leave the machine on, but without logging on, the VBScript will start but never end. I think it fails to start MS Access.     - VBScript in Web Page and Security Hello, I am still a bit new with writing VBScript in a web page so hopefully someone can help me with this issue I am having. I have a management server (MS 2003) in domain USERS, and on this server I have IIS running with just a simple interface on a web page right now to help automate an administrative task. However, their are users that are in the ADMIN domain that will mostly be accessing this page (along with ones from the USERS domain), however, the users in the ADMIN domain always get the ADO Security Warning dialog box everytime the script runs, "The website uses a data provider that may be unsafe. if you trust this site click OK...", while those users that log into the USERS domain are fine and do not get this error at all. How can I supress this dialog box, add code to remedy it, or change settings on the web server that will fix it.
