I inserted a title tag in the html code of my homepage, as well as every single page of the site. However, a search engine simulator claims it doesn't see a title on my home page.

Grrr..... I detest FP (including all the others that alledgedly "do it all
for you" but just end up screwing everything up). Get yourself into the
habit of using Notepad or similar ;o)

As for the problem itself, how have you got it set up?. It should normally
look like the following;

<html>
<head><title>Site title</title>

... meta tags, css etc etc

</head>
<body>

.... page content

</body>
</html>

Maggie, aslong as the title tag is after the <head> tag and before the
</head> tag, it shouldn't really matter.

If it's not seeing it then there's either;

1. Something wrong with the page thats checking your site
2. Something in your page thats blocking it (i.e. invalid syntax/duplicated
<html> etc tags)

> Thanks Steven. The way it's set up is as you said, except the meta tags
(descriptions and keywords, etc.) come before the title tag. The tag itself
looks just like this <Title>whatever</Title>. Is there any other place
where I should have inserted a title?

hi Maggie,

Have you tested your page with "The Validator"?

http://www3.htmlvalidator.com/

It may be able to point out something you missed.

cheers, jw
