    - WMI access SNMP Blackberry provide a MIB for SNMP with their Entererise Server. There is some information I need to access through SNMP, I have installed the 'WMI Provider for SNMP' but can't see the blackberry objects through WMI. I have looked through Script-o-matic but can't find the WMI objects to query. Does anyone know how to access this SNMP information or could help point me in the right direction. I tested to run the script, the following error message prompt. I have added my own workgroup to the .mdw file. I manage to open the access database manually, but not through the script. Error Type: Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005) You do not have the necessary permissions to use the 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SeokBee\Leave\DB\leaves.mdb' object.     - Possible bug with VB Scripting Dictionary Hard to know how to classify this question so apologies for the cross-post. I am writing an application using VBA Retail 6.4.9972 over VB 6.3 inside AutoCAD 2002 (Wait! Don't abandon this question VB programmers - you really don't need to know anything about AutoCAD in order to help). It's a fairly sizeable application (10,000+ lines) and is working quite well but this thing has had me pulling my hair out since yesterday. I am using a Dictionary to store information about roof struts but I've found that modifying the Item for a particular key modifies not only the intended item, but also another (seemingly unrelated) item!! It's true! I've stepped through line by line and can see in the Watch window that they *both* change when the one assignment line is executed. Now the data structure is not straightforward and it may be related to that but I've tried various modifications on the theme and the same problem keeps happening.     - Recordset.Close() vs. dropping out of scope Some colleagues and I are debating the absolute necessity of executing the Close() method on a recordset once you're done with it. I have always heard it recommended that you should always execute the Close() method, and that failure to do so could result in the recordset remaining open and never closed and unloaded until it falls out of scope. But my argument is that there is a handy word "could" in the above statement. I have perused documentation and web sites and I can see no specific evidence of this happening except: a) the garbage collector is too slow to keep up (i.e. on a multi-threaded web site hosting millions of people at once), or b) the recordset is passed into another scope context, such as the Session object. I have NEVER heard of this problem outside of these two criteria. Has anyone else??? My position is that if you only have a few hundred users pounding on a connection pool at once, and you've got a local subroutine going on, and you aren't putting the Recordset or its Connection anywhere else (a global or static collection), even if it is a healthy, good idea to Close() it and mark it for destruction, it's nonetheless 100% safe to just forget about it and let the garbage collector handle it.     - running an application in a VB script What would the command be to run the following program in a VB script: "C:\program files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton CleanSweep\Qdcsfs.exe" I honestly don't know a whole lot about VB scripts, and I have one that calls up disk defragmenter with the following command: WshShell.Run "dfrg.msc" and the script automatically finds disk defragmenter in the following location %systemroot%\System32\dfrg.msc I even tried using the same command after putting the file Qdcsfs.exe In the System32 folder and changing the command to WshShell.Run "Qdcsfs.exe" But even that did not work. I tried putting the file via the path name both thru the network \\brian\program files\norton systemworks\... etc and also C:\program files\norton systemworks\...etc to no avail. It appears that there are additional wmi properties. Does anyone know if there is a WMI update or download to WMI for Windows 2000?     - Problem with TargetPath while creating desktop shortcut My problem is this. Iam trying to create a shortcut for a Client Access session (.ws file). However when I add the path to the actual .ws file into the TargetPath part, it seems the shortcut doesnt recognize the path unless I manually edit a piece of the target path. I need to set permissions on all of the files and folders in a directory tree.     - diskpart Is there a way in VBScripting to perform the same function as diskpart? Or is there a way to scan a formatted document and pull the value from a line? I can take diskpart and output its "Disk List" command to a text document but it goes in as one line with characters to delineate the lines and fields.     - logon script, username and registry edit I'm trying to modify a registry key in HKLM to receive the value of the currently logged on user (%username%). I need this to run as part of the normal user logon script...whether it is embedded in the current script or called separately. My logon script is simply a *.bat file that synchronizes the time, maps some drives and copies files to the local machine. I'm not a scripter so I tried Scriptomatic and Tweakomatic with similar (negative) results. The key in question is a string value. I'm running a W2K3 domain if this matters. Thanks!     - Exchange Server WMI Instance problem Anyone know of a reason whereby using the Exchange_Server WMI instance from the ExchangeServerV2 namespace might not work? I have tried running remotely and locally on the Exchange Server itself, just doing reads. All the other instances under V2 work just fine (verified with Scriptomatic), but even the basic scriptomatic "reads" fail when the Exchange_Server instance is selected.     - sheet protection in excel with editable range Hi, I've created a script to enumerate critical security groups (Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins, etc etc) in Active Directory for manager review on a regular basis. Since this is a control we're putting in place for SOX compliance, one of the specifications was that the data in the report be unalterable. I was able to get protection working but I've got a new feature request for a editable "comments" column for the managers to use during their review. I can't seem to get the Sheet.Protection.AllowEditRange.Add functionality to work.     - Deleting a Contact from AD Please help! I have been trying to get the following code to work, which should loop through two OU's and delete any duplicates from the 2nd OU. It is failing on the objOU2.Delete line with "An Invalid dn syntax has been specified". This error normally indicates an invalid LDAP string has been used, but I can echo the contents of objContact1.cn and objContact2.cn as it iterates through the loops just fine.     - Waiting if TermService is started Hallo, i have the following problem, i have a Windows TS 2003 with 3 Clients. On startup the 3 clients autoconnect to the TS2003. But the problem is, when all 4 machines start at the same time, the 3 Clients start faster than the TS, the get an errormessage, when the try to connect to the TS. So i tried to write a script, which waits if the TermService is startet (Status=4), and afterwars connects to the Server. But the problem is, if the TS is down, the Script can't create the Object "objComputer" and it jumps in the IF (see below). Is there a way to ask if the Object "objComputer" is created correctly? The updates need to run under the local admin account but there are 2 possible local admin passwords in use. I need my script to attempt installation with the first admin password and if this fails then use the second (and if for some reason the second fails then to popup an error. I've tried writing it like below but the errReturn doesn't seem to work and the script just waits for the password input, it doesn't seem to get the input automatically from SendKeys.
