    - Hidden windows I have a VB script that we are using group policy to execute during logon to launch an exe file. Unfortunately the file runs with the window open and some of our users close it....leaving the application uninstalled. Is there a way for the script to run the exe file hidden?     - read csv file for data Hello, I am looking for a script that will find data from a .mdb file if the data in the first colmn match's the data that I am looking for, if it finds stnumber, then assign the data from the corrisponding colums from that row back to Variables in the script, the table would look like: stnumber storename 1sto 2nd0 3rdo 100 grocery 100 120 204 there will be 200 or so rows, and if it finds the stnumber that was inputed I need the next 4 colums brought back to the script to make a IP address.     - How can I programatically share a printer? I would like to programmatically create a local JetDirect printer connection (A local printer that uses a JetDirect port) and then share the printer. I would also like to share an existing printer that is not shared to account for the instance where the JetDirect printer already exists. I can't seem to find any reference on how to do that. I can find lots of info on creating non-JetDirect printers and even auto-sharing them through the printUI dll but not to do what I am trying to do. To narrow the scope a bit, I can write the glue but need the following: 1. Creating a JetDirect printer and sharing it. 2. Sharing a printer. Thanks! Kevin Tag: Help!     - Scheduled Tasks I have an Inno Setup that installs a bunch of scripts and batch files that need to be scheduled. I would like to know two things: 1) Does anyone have a script/routine that can be invoked from Inno that can schedule a predeteremined task? 2) I was thinking it would be nice to have a basic form that the user can pick what day of week, time, etc., a scheduled item can be run. The form information woudl then be interpreted and then create the scheduled task. Has anyone done anything like this before? I see I can use the Win32_ScheduledJob service tasks within WinMgmts:, but it appears to create the task under the "AT" command. Although it shows up under the "Explorer Scheduled Tasks" view, it cannot be edited. I must edit from the AT command. Anyone have any clue why? Tag: Help!     - User rights to server shares I'm looking for a script, or pointers to help my helpdesk people find out what rights a user has to several file shares. They may have a user that tries to view a stored fax on one of several servers, but the user cannot see the file, has no rights. What I am looking for is a script that I can have the helpdesk person run, they fill in the user's logon name, and the server\share that is a problem. What I would like to come back is the rights that the user has in that share - read only, modify, no rights. The help-desk won't have the user's password, just the logon ID.     - Very large SQL - how do I carry it over multiple lines I have an extremely long SQL statement that I need to run to update around 53 variables - and instead of having it run horizontally forever off my screen, I would like to ask what is the proper way to carry statements over multiple lines in VBScript instead of having to contain it on just one really really really long line.     - Run on startup, but only in this hardware profile? Hello, Is there a way to launch an application at login depending on the current hardware profile? For example, when using the "Docked" profile, I'd like to launch a certain .EXE. But when I'm not booting up under the Docked profile, the .EXE would not run.     - VBScript on Intranet webpage works on only some PCs. Hi! I've been using the code below to send the results of a form on our intranet using the users Outlook installation. I've recently learned that it's not working on all machines. Normally, the user would complete the form, click SUBMIT, and there would be a security popup warning that another application was trying to use Outlook. The uesr would click YES and the message would be sent. The error is "ActiveX component can't create object: 'Outlook.Application' I believe that one of two things might be causing this (please correct me if I'm wrong)... 1) The security settings in IE or an IE security update is preventing the VBScript to work.     - Schedule + VBScipt Hi this might be the wrong place to put this but I am currently trying to find out how I would use vbscript to schedule a .bat file to run two weeks after I restore certain files. It's basically a backup restore bat file that I run to take stuff up and down on the network. I find that there are some VB scripts in the script center that can retrieve
group policies information, based on RSoP and win2003 or XP platform. But I
cannot find any similar method that can be used in win2000. Any alternative
