Where I work, we use *.wsf and contruct very modular logon scripts. The
logon scripts vary in complexity over time and wsf let's you separate
functionality into separate files (*.vbs or *.js - we genrally use *.vbs
becuase our admins tend not to be former web developers ;-).
As for error trapping/logging reaching a counter productive point, I've
never personally known that to happen. It's a key characteristic of robust,
fault tolerant, production quality, enterprise scope scripts. Design them
well and they rarely fail, and when they do you know exactly why. Of course
that goes for any software you write.
