    - insert into table - order problem Hello, I am using VBScript in ASPX. Also using access as my database. I am trying doing the follow : Insert into mytable(col1, col2, col3, col4, ... col10) values(@par1, @par2, @par3, @par4, ... @par10) I have notice that the row is not inserted as I wish to, and columnt : col9 i.e is set to parameter : par5 (and not to par9 respectively).     - accessing document.script hello everybody, I have script in VBS. when I translate it into JS I can't access "document.script". generally, that script cooperates with html page, which contains its own title and: <script> var IEvar = 3.14; showIEvar = function () { return IEvar; } </script> the purpose of VBS script is to look after particular Internet Explorer window that contains this html page. when found, a reference to IE window is returned and VBS script can execute functions and set variables hard-coded in this html page. when I try to code the same in JS I end with the following error message: oIE.document.parentWindow.document.script is null or not an object code: 800A138F I did search google for "document.script" but what I read is still mysterious to me.. I suppose oIE which points to IE window is set correctly since I can execute the following statement: Wscript.Echo(oIE.document.title); I would appreciate any suggestions and help from both js or vbs scripters.     - 'rundll32.exe - Invalid Current Directory' message generated by login script SFLogin.vbs runs from an NT4 server at user login (netlogon.bat serves as a stub loader that calls SFLogin.bat). When SFLogin.bat attempts to run an .exe, sometimes NT4 Workstation hosts get this error: "Rundll32.exe - Invalid Current Directory. The process cannot switch to the startup directory to c:\winnt. Select OK to set current directory to c:\winnt, or select cancel to exit." Would anybody have a general explanation as to why this is happening? That is: does this have something to do with a "working directory?" What is a working directory? What is a current directory? When netlogon.bat calls SFLogin.vbs, what's going on? What's happening when SFLogin.vbs calls another .exe? Do these processes run on the server, or on the client? Hopefully a general explanation will help me figure out instances of this error. I have gather some loggings of arcserve from several of our shop-servers in one 500k csvfile. I tried working with Excel (also with vbscript) and it worked: importing. The spreadsheet was some 5000 rows. I wanted to use autofilter to make a few selections, BUT the autofilter-function works only with appr. 2700 rows, so I had to find another way to Display de loggings... Problem is that when I use the below code, the ProviderName property is Null (supposed to be a string of where drive is mapped to). BTW, I'm using XP on an AD domain. I am an admin of all workstations in domain. Why? Where is this set at? Is there no hope?     - Active Directory User Login Script Path Hi, I'm tryng to incorporate an AD script I run nightly to list out what user has what login script. When I refer to the obj.Fields("scriptPath") within AD I get: Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal. Which I am assuming is telling me the field doesn't exist with in the user object. Is this a correct assumption? I use the source class user and pull other attribute names without a problem. I saved this taskitem to some folder, it is saved well. But when i open the task from the folder by double clicking on task in table view i found that the the controls shows the intial values of fields.     - Creating 90000 users and placing randomly them into thirty OU's I've found a script or two through the news groups (here and on the WSH group) that allows me to create a couple of thousand users. Now what I'm trying to figure out is how to get those users to "shuffle" themselves into one of thirty OU's under the users. I manage to retrieve the value of my CLOB field by using the GetChunk (the value is an HTML code). My problem is that each time, the first 6 or 7 characters of my code are missing (but when looking directly in the DB, I see that the HTML codes in my table are fine).     - Newb Help: How do I find out what does in CreateObject() Hi vbscript guru's. I am a php mainly but php won't cut it in this situation so I think I'm looking to vbs and/or javascript to hand off the variables to php. I'm a vbs Noob so bear with me if my terminology is wrong. Here is my situation. I have a series of IE Plugins to check for (Flash, Real Audio, if the user is using AoL, etc, etc,) I see through searching that the CreateObject() is used with some error catching to see if the Object is present. Error mean no plugin no error means its running Now what I am wondering is how do I know what goes in the ()? Is there a list that IE can spit out or something in my registry i can lookup, or am I going to each of the major plug in makers and asking them? Perhaps there is an online resource for this...     - Select Case True and type mismatch Hi, I found this script out there on the net and it seems perfect for what I want to do. That is Ping a series of IP addresses and retern the info to an Excel Spreadsheet. Unfortunatly, it uses the Select Case True method, which I am not familliar with. And when I close it, the window is away. But the mshta.exe process is still running and won't terminate. I think it's because mshta.exe is waiting for the applet to close. On an HTML page ist works. And the other thing: this problem occurs only under windows xp. w2k,ME,98 will terminate mshta.exe without waiting for the applet. Basically what I have is an asp page that is using ado to do some database queries. I have an activity log table in my database that I would also like to update when certain events are triggered on the webpage. In this activity log I wanted to have the network username and the computer name of the person that was using the webpage. I thought VBScript would be best for this because it runs client-side but I have not found a solution yet. The actual problem is the leading zeroes are being truncated in the XL file. Hence, I use ActiveSheet.QueryTables.Add method to define the formating properties that I require.     - Highlight Text in Control Greetings, I am not sure if this is possible, but within ArcPad Studio 6.0.1.2OU (ArcPAd is basically pared down desktop GIS software for PDAs). I am doing my development on a Windows 2000 machine, but the resultant code is placed on an IPaq handheld. I have an edit control in a form. The control is bound to a DBF file and shows data if it is populated or "0" (integer field in the DBF) if it is not. I want to be able to highlight whatever text is in that control (i.e. background of selected text is navy blue, the text is white, and the caret/cursor is all the way to the right of the selected string). The tools that are being written are for handheld devices that field workers will be utilizing with a stylus. The fewer the clicks/taps they must make with the stylus, the more efficient their use of our tool. Any idea then, on how to highlight text in a VBScript edit control ?     - Could not load type '****.Global' I'm working my way through the .net Mappoint Web services sample code, but I keep experiencing this error - "Could not load type '****.Global'" (where **** is the application name). I've had a look through the news group for similar problems but I've had no luck with of the suggested solutions. Hi all

Ok so i have two databases on my ISP server. One is the working one and the
other is a backup. They are named "Data.mdb and DataBackup.mdb"
I have updated the Data.mdb database on my local PC and uploaded it to the
server.
Now i get this error:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable
query.

It works on my local PC using ISS without any errors and it updates without
faults.
If i use the DataBackup.mdb database on the server it works fine.
The only thing I did was remove 23 recorders.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the time you get that error when there is a problem with
permissions.
