Habe mich =FCber die Hilfe informiert und bin auf "System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController" gestossen, nur ich kann eintragen was ich will, ServiceController kenn mein "Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition" nicht.     - Datagridview sort resets my formatting Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to keep my cell formatting the same even after I've clicked a column sort header. Basically I've programmatically changed forecolors and backcolors of several different cells in my datagridview. When I the click the sort header it resorts the data but all my color formatting is lost. Is there a way to not lose all this formatting when I sort?     - Question about Windows Service and Setup projects I am reviewing Windows service programming. I'm running VS2005 and programming in VB. I've just found an example in Support: 'How to create a Setup project for a Windows Service in Visual Basic .NET or in Visual Basic 2005' http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317421 I've been able to program and run this example without problems. However, I wonder if I'm missing the point here. How do you deploy a service like this to a machine without Visual Studio installed?     - Flicker when updating Listbox I have a program that displays constantly changing prices which it sources from the web once per second. The prices are displayed on a Listbox (not the best choice but there are good reasons for this). The Listbox flickers when updating and I can't find a solution on the net.     - Problem with casting Hi, We have an very strange error and i though you can help us to understand what is happening. If we recompile it works, just happens from time to time.     - How to unit test a Dataset? Hi. I have written unit tests for my helper classes that return simple values as strings or integers. Now I need to test the methods that deal with DataSets and DataTables. Is there any special issues when running these kind of tests? I ask this because if I create a DataSet from scratch reproducing the desired structure and compare this to the real DataSet I got from running my helper class, the Assert.AreEqual method says me they are not equal!     - Currency manager changes position on endedit Hi I have a winform app with fields bound to a backbend db via a currency manager (System.Windows.Forms.CurrencyManager). The app generally works fine but in a specific instance where I select a value from a drop down control and then call the MyCurrencyManager.EndCurrentEdit(), to begin to try to save the record, the position of the currency manger becomes -1 which creates problem in saving and accessing the original record.     - Pausing a process without holding OS Hi I need to add pauses in-between processes in my app to give time to other users/processes on the network. Is there a way to pass control to OS for a specified time (say 15 seconds) to delay my app but at the same time not blocking OS's processor cycles?     - Off Topic Post - Reporting Services Question Hi Guys, I know this is off topic, so please bear with me on this. The reporting services newsgroup is not really being used, so I thought I would try this group on the offchance somone might be able to help, if not then so be it. I am trying to create an invoice report. Essentially, there are two datasets in use, the invoice set itself, with the main fields such as invoice number, invoice items etc and the dsCustomer which contains the customer addresses. I have the invoice details fine, but I want to be able to extract the customer address details from the dsCustomer for each invoice in the invoiceDetaisl Data Region and I cant work out how to do this. How can I fill/filter/lookup List 1's fields based on the customerID in List 2. Yeah, I could make one huge Datasetwith all the details repeated a billion times, but there has to be an intelligent way to do this. Am I just making life difficult for myself ? A different approach ?     - Routine cannot contain an On Error and lamda or query expression. Huh??? I tried to put an "on error" statement in a routine and got the message that I cannot user "on error" and a lamda or query expression in the same routine. Help does not list anything useful for explaining a "lamda" expression and so I don't know what one is and I am not doing any database stuff in the entire program. So what does this error message really mean and what can I do to get an On Error into the routine? NO, DON'T tell me to use Try/Catch because it is an incomplete implementation that does not allow control to get back to the failing line of code after attempting a fixup of the problem. It was written when I was just learning VB9 and is certainly set up from the perspective of a long-time VB6 coder. There are fixups to be made, for sure to modernize it. I've just been assigned to write a quickie app. I could use a 2nd opinion here. The app is to be written in Dot Net 2.0 (VB). "LocalService' works fine as well, if I give 'Local Service' full access to the directory. So I suppose my question is, given the above, should I prefer using "LocalSystem" or "LocalService"? In our App, we add these to the list of Solution References and include them in the code. When the App compiles, it places copies of the DLL files in the output (bin's Debug/Release folders). Now we are trying to test the deployment. We created an Installer project and listed each of the DLL files with the Exclude property set to False. We install the application, and there are no errors. When we launch the application, it appears to be crashing about where it is supposed to be accessing one of the DLL files. Is there something special that needs to be done to install DLL files along with a project?     - Conversion Problem Hi This .net is driving me crazy!! In VB6 I had a type which contained a couple of multi-dimentional arrays which i used to create and read records: Type AAA : Array1(10,10,2) as Integer Array2(20,20,4) as Integer : End Type I'm trying to get vb8 set up so that i can use the same files and use the fileopen method to randomly access the file data etc vb8 won't let me use <vbfixedarray> with more than 2 dementions so i cannot declare it correctly in the structure declaration. What i have done is: Structure z : dim Array1(,,) as short dim Array2(,,) as short : End Structure Dim x as z I have then tried to Redim in an initialation so: redim x.array1(10,10,2) redim x.array2(20,20,4) But when i go to get the record length Len(x) it is totally wrong Is there any way out of this mess so i can use my original record structures with openfile and random access? In Visual Studio I have a web project. Instead of retaining a local copy
of my image folder i'd like to access my image folder(located on another
server) with a virtual folder during debuging. Is there a way to do this so
that when I hit run, it sets up the virtual folder ready to use while
debugging?

Did that make any sense? lol
