Hi all
Is any one familiar with this phenomena??
On windows start up (windowsXP professional sp1), windows explorer exe
(explorer.exe) start's up
as well. It run's on the back ground consuming growing amount of memory.
After killing it's process through task manager task bar is immediatly
gone... but i am able to continue working with
applications that were already runing.
Any idea what's going on or how shell i handle this?
Thanks in advance

Explorer is supposed to start up, and it doesn't run in the background,
it runs in the foreground. Explorer is the Windows shell. It is what
let's you interact with Windows.

This has nothing to do with security. You should post this to one of the
standard Windows XP groups.

Of course the task bar is gone when you kill the task. See above. You've
killed the shell.

As above, since this isn't security related, post in one of the general
Windows XP news groups.
