Microsoft never sends updates as email attachments. This is a common
occurrence. Probably someone you know (who has your email address in
their addressbook) is infected or you posted your real email address
somewhere and it has been harvested. Delete any email like that without
opening the attachment.

Uh, Jon?

Do you not know how to post to USENET groups,
or are you being an intentional idiot?

Uh, Notan: Do you know how to help the poster by explaining how to post to
USENET groups, or are *you* being an intentional idiot, or simply just a net
nanny?

There are *books* written on the subject, and I'm not about to
repost them. They include the idea that bottom posting is the
preferred response method.

Any more questions, Tom?

I have a question... (And, see I bottom posted for you).

How did he not bottom post? He didn't post anything at all, except the
original question. Maybe, just maybe, he accidentally hit the send
button before typing a reply. Or, maybe, just maybe, he was just
reposting the original question (since for example, my newsreader didn't
download the original question). Or, god forbid this happen, maybe just
maybe his reply got lost in the transmission. Or, maybe he really
didn't have anything to say, but wanted to annoy you.

Yes, there are books written on how to use USENET.. But, you could be a
little more discrete in your 'help'. And, show a little more respect
for the poster, even if you think he's an idiot. Otherwise, you'll end
up in the Auto Delete box with SK.;)

As far as the bottom posting comment, it was directed towards Tom, not the OP.

I was going to go into a long explanation as to why *stupid* people annoy me,
and how I've become intolerant of them, but it's just not worth my time.

If you don't like what I post, killfile me.

I'll live.
