O.K.,I understand what you mean now.I just worried that
maybe you were allowing installs to run directly from
webpages..(You'd be amazed what goes on)
This has a good search facility onsite where you can look
up "pests":

Also
http://cexx.org is great for information on suspect
apps.
Then there's
http://www.sysinfo.org
That'll help you out if you want to check any suspect
items set to run on start up.There's also a good
comprehensive list of active x BHOs.
The site is often inaccessible because of DOS attacks.It
often reaches its cgi limit.
Vis-a-vis "uninstallers".The Jury is out on that
one.Lop.com,for example,offers a removal tool for its own
malware.Would you trust them to do a proper job?
A lot of the pernicious trojan-style programmes can only
be removed manually.Irrespective of any promises
made.Read those EULAs with care!
