hi folks. when i delete/empty temp internet files,i find
that often,within the same day 5/6000 files creep back in!
what,s going on? i am using xp pro and ie6. i am a total
novice,and have only had a pc in front of me for about 10
months.i have had this problem for some three or four
months now and it,s driving me nuts.please help. thank
you in advance.robert.

This is not a problem, the files are , as the name says, temporary
internet files. that is web pages that you have visited. These are
stored on the computer so that IE does not have to reload them from
the web site but can pick them up locally, therefore, faster.
If this is a problem for disk space you can go into internet options (
control panel ) and in the advanced tap put a tick next to empty
temporary internet files folder............
This will empty the folder when you close IE.

Robert,
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
