Whenever I attempt to shut down my computer, I get a pop-
up message that says "Someone is logged on to your
machine. Are you sure you want to log off?" I'm running
WinXP Pro as administrator and I'm wondering if this is
just me logged in or if in fact I have a vulnerability
that is being exploited which would allow others to hack
in. How can I tell if it is the latter? I have an allways-
on DSL internet connection.

Run fsmgmt.msc and see who has a session connected to your shares.

Is this system used by other members of your family...etc?
If they have logged on and then switched users, or if the screen saver has
kicked in and taken you back to the logon screen that can cause this message
to appear.

However Kent and Lanwench's suggestions should also be followed!
