I have been looking for a way to prevent SMB signing for just one user. I
think it can be done with a security template and then applied to a group,
but not quite sure how to do it.

Any help in the effort would be greatly appreciated.

It can not be done on a user basis, but it can be done on a computer
basis. If it is a domain computer, you would have to move it to it's own OU
and do it there with a created GPO for that OU - even if that is the only
setting for the GPO. If it is in a workgroup you can modify Local Security
Policy. Of coures it will be not able to communicate with other computers
that have a "require" policy for smb signing. --- Steve
