With hi-speed internet conn'n, is your pc vulnerable to attack if not shut
down overnight? Most discussions re shut down versus sleep only discuss power
usage. I think this question relates to xp or Vista. I have both.

Makes no real odds. If you computer is vulnerable, it will be attacked whilst
in-use.

1. Install (or turn on) firewall.

2. Don't use Internet Explorer. Get a better alternative.

The firewall is turned on. However, it seems to me that any firewall isn't
100% effective and therefore if your pc is on for a longer time, the chances
of being infected will be that much greater.
