I am unable to access secured websites. I cannot access
my bank account or pay bills online. My internet provider
says to contact microsoft, so hopefully you can help.

In Internet explorer, select the menu item "Help" and then select "About
Internet Explorer". In the resulting dialogue box you will see displayed
the current "Cypher Strength" - that value should be 128-bit for proper
access to banking sites etc. Some older versions of Internet Explorer may
show only 40-bit or (apparently) 0-bit (some sort of patch problem
methinks).

Elsewhere in that dialogue box there should be a link to follow to get the
128-bit security upgrade (free) from Microsoft...

I would suggest going to Windows Update and instaling the
very latest version of Internet Explorer. Your problem
could be caused by your SSL being the wrong version, or
corrupted.

If that does not work, could you please post back with
dtetails as to your operating system and brwwser version,
and wether you are in the United States.

Hi,

Can you provide more info on what errors you are seeing?
It is any secured website? Just your bank? DO they
require specific access items such as cookies?

You might check your internet security settings as well.

You might also want to check with the Internet Explorer
newsgroups for assistance.
