Will WINXP reload virus scanner updates if you just log
off? I was told that you totally have "restart" for the
upddates to take effect.

True or not?

Thanks!

winxp doesn't have a virus scanner built in, which AV
software are you talking about?

Usually if you need a reboot, it will tell you!

Patty - you have to click on the PLUS in front of the messages to expand the
conversation--so you can see the replies.

What antivirus are you running? What does it say to do after updating the
definitions?

If it says restart, it means that.
