You may have installed a bit of software which appeared to have been mailed
to you by Microsoft.
Here's a couple of references to tools to clean your machine of this virus.
To do so, you may need to restart, and log in as Administrator, using the
password you set on that account when installing XP. You may want to read
Symantec's description of the virus before disinfecting:
