Today I have received 11 emails
from "security@microsoft.com" telling me to download a
patch. I know that it is not legit and not from microsoft
but can't something be done to whom ever is sending
these. It is most annoying.

I didn't see a reply to Dot's message about
the "patch.exe" email. That's my question too. Is this
email from Microsoft or not. I've gotten 4 of them saying
they are from Microsoft and I need to install the file.
HELP! Can someone confirm or deny that this file is legit
(or is it spam or worse)? Thanks in advance to anyone who
can answer...

Dot's email states " I know that it is not legit and not from microsoft"

She is correct. Microsoft NEVER send patches via email.
Youll find every 20th message in this ng says the same thing....
