I have my own computer and I have put a password, and I
have installed an anti virus (Norton System Works)but I
don't understand how someone else can be logged onto my
computer when I installed it? It means that my computer
is not protected although I have a password and anti
virus.I am person who is bound for the computer and it is
my job and I have bought the computer for myself and at
the same time I am disappointed how can it happen? It
means that your personnel do it. Please , explain it to
me.

Thank you

Hi Sonja,
Next time you send a message, please specify which operative system you have
and give more details about your system, anyhow here is some explainations:
The password is like a key to a door, and the antivirus is like a dog that
is guarding your appartment, but they can't help you if your windows have
lots of hole that let a thief to enter. Software have always bugs and
security holes. Viruses and worms can use those holes to enter and disable
your antivirus. To get better security you need what Microsoft call defend in
depth, that means many layers of defence, in english it means to update your
system with latest patches, install a firewall, don't download code from
untrusted sites and use an antivirus program :)
U can find more about securing your computer by visiting the link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/default.mspx

If U aren't satisfied with the answer please let me know.

Best regards

hi!

Firstly, thank you for the reply to my message.
I have Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 1,
Computer: AMD Athlon (tm) Processor, 1.24. GHz, 256 MB of RAM and someone
else is logged onto my computer although I have installed anti virus and put
a password which someone else is automatically discovering. I had changed the
password but it was unsuccessfully. For this reason, I wanted to ask you how
can I remove someone who is logged onto my computer.

Thank you
