outlook express opening mail

I notice that outlook opens mail as soon as it loods up
and continues opening pail as I proceed. Is there any way
to stop this from happening? I would like to Have it so
that I do not have to open it to delete it esp. the SPAMS
and unknown Frwds. Thank you for any help in this matter.

It opens the mail, as in, opens each message automatically, or it downloads
it? If the latter, change your Outlook so it doesn't check for mail
automatically. Not sure how this is going to help you with spam, though. Get
a spam blocking app like www.cloudmark.com for that.
