lately, i ve been getting a lot of mail from nigerians saying i can make
millions if i give them my account number so they can deposit money from
folks over there who died and left me in thier wills., and other such crap.
is there somewhere i can report these to. i imagine some folks get this stuff
and beleive it.

Yep, you don't watch the news much do you? Theres always some greedy
lazy knob who falls for these scams.

Oh I'd say it's got a lot to do with greed to Notan, ignorance as well

Sure.

Look at the headers, and find an IP Address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).

Run this address through a "Whois" tool (Google "whois"), copy
all headers and the body of the offending post, and send them
to the abuse address, listed in the Whois results.

But before you do that you should learn to read the headers and
_understand_ what they mean and what parts can be trusted and which
parts cannot. Most IP addresses in an email header can be faked quite
easily to lead the uninitiated to believe they came from where they did not.

Probably the best thing that most people can do is to report 419 and
other scams to a central clearing house. Check this out:

scam" (without the quotes of course) to find others.

Yeah, you're probably correct about people learning to read headers, first.

Another option is submitting all headers, and bodies, to services which
specialize in SPAM reporting.
