need help from someone who knows

I recently found this warning come up on my home edition
of XP:
The system has detected that a third-party appliction has
removed 180search Assistant, possibly without your
consent. This may cause some programs not to run as
expected. Please choose an option below.
1-re-install
2-leave and clean any remaining 180search assistant files
3-remind me later
Now as I am a novice at this computer thing this window
is colored like Microsoft but does not have any markings
from them so how do I know if this is not a virus? I have
never seen this before and don't know what to do please
advise.

It's a piece of adware junk you don't want anyway.

You should run full scans on your computer with AdAware, Spybot, and
CWShredder. All are free...make sure to update them before running a scan.
