Could any of you wonderfull people help me with this?!
When my computer is left standing it logon screen comes
on and locks the computer, however when i am downloading
music it means that it stops the download and i have to
start from where i left off again. I want to be able to
leave it for a while so i can at least get a few tunes.
How can i turn this off so the computer does not lock?
There is only the two of us using it in our house, so its
not on a netork or anything like that!

Thankyou
Alex

Hi Alex,

You haven't told us what operating system you use so it will be a bit hard
to guess...

Still, you can try by right clicking on your desktop -> Properties and
Screen Saver tab. Disable Screen Saver or at least "On resume, password
protect..."

Alex, you need to right click on your desktop, goto properties, then screen
saver, check your screen saver settings although that shouldn't be a problem.
Then a little lower is a power saver option or settings. Click that button,
it should pop up a new window. Your first tab is power schemes. This would be
the easiest. Look at the settings towards the bottom, and you can turn them
all to never by clicking the down arrow. My advice is to at least have the
monitor turn off after a period of time since this wouldn't affect your
download.
If you don't want to turn those to never then you will have to go to the
Advanced tab and Hibernate tab depending on whether you have your system set
to goto standby or hibernate. Whichever, just go to those other tabs and
disable or uncheck the option to 'Prompt for password when computer resumes
from standby'. That will take care of your computer shutting down.
