My PC with winxp is really f*cked. Antivirus (Panda
titanium) keeps popping up each time to report cleaning
of a worm called W32/Nachi.B. Saving even of word
documents is not possible. We tried to install Norton and
had to remove Panda first in wich we succeeded. Now we
really got succed because installation of Norton
failed. It seems now that there are more virussus in this
computer than outside on the internet. Still we want to
install a firewall and than scan the computer to clean
all virusses with some kind of symantec service
(http://www.symantec.com/) which we already did several
times but always with "no virusses found" result. So
maybe theres a better site to identify and kill virusses?
suggestions please by e mail: Barbabientje67@hotmail.com

Sorry. You want help you'll have to come here :

First, I myself don't rely on Norton for firewall or AV. Good in other areas but not those. I recommend always using software from companies who ONLY specialize in one field. No point in recommending cause everyone has different preference
Go on the net, after turning on ICF, and search for a trojan hunter instead.

See
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.welchia.b.worm.html -
there is a utility you can download to remove the worm.

Turn on your XP firewall ASAP or use a third party software firewall or
hardware firewall appliance.

What happened when your Norton install was performed - what were the
symptoms of the failure?

Note - posting your valid e-mail address in a newsgroup post, or in your
news account settings, is a surefire way to get spam and SWEN and other
viruses sent to you....see http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help
in the future, but note that now that your address is out there, there's not
much you can do other than changing your address.
