this is the latest version of security update, the "July 2005,
Cumulative Patch" update which eliminates all known security vulnerabilities
affecting MS Internet Explorer, MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express as well as
three newly discovered vulnerabilities. Install now to protect your computer
from these vulnerabilities, the most serious of which could allow an
malicious user to run code on your computer. This update includes the
functionality of all previously released patches.


System requirements Windows 95/98/Me/2000/NT/XP
This update applies to MS Internet Explorer, version 4.01 and later
MS Outlook, version 8.00 and later
MS Outlook Express, version 4.01 and later
Recommendation Customers should install the patch at the earliest
opportunity.
How to install Run attached file. Choose Yes on displayed dialog box.
How to use You don't need to do anything after installing this item.

Happens all the time. Expect it to continue. Never open attachments from
emails unless you are 100% sure they do not contain a virus and even then,
scan them first. Microsoft does not randomly contact you and definitely do
not randomly send you attachments. Same common sense rules apply as have
always applied.

And here I was jealous because I didn't get one! I just looked in my spam
box and no, I don't even have one in there. Ah well... What's a guy to do?
Anyhow, I don't suppose the OP examined the attachment (right click and scan
with most AV scanners) to find out what it was?
