Aloha mouldez,

I guess that depends upon what the threats are. You might try going to http://housecall.antivirus.com
and give it a chance to scan your system (it's free). Maybe it can remove
the threats. For more specifics on how to remove you'd have to tell us specifically
what threats Norton claims you have.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

In addition to Mr. Schorr's good advice, you may want to go over the
general malware removal steps here:

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

At the very least do the preparatory (and finishing) work, scan with
Ad-aware and Spybot, and note that you are doing all scans in Safe
Mode.

As Mr. Schorr said, since you haven't told us what the threats are we
can't be more specific.

Just guesswork: the six threats might be in a \_restore directory. In this
case right-click on "My computer", click on the tab "System restore" and
activate the checkbox "Deactivate System Restore on all harddisks". Restart
the computer, rerun your antivirus software and check if it still finds
something.

No matter if yes or no: do not fail to reactivate the "System Restore"
option, it might be useful after the next system crash.

Sorry if the options have slightly different names - I had to re-translate
them into English.
