I would like to have in all my client computers an entry in their host file
to point to "master" host file so when I make a change it only has to be done
at one place.

If anyone knows what to type in the clients host file to make them look to
the master host file I appreciate you sharing that information.

Many thanks.

This is only possible with the LMHOSTS file, not the HOSTS file
How about DNS, rather than HOSTS files?

How about changing 'DataBasePath' in the Registry to point to another location ?
{ albeit this may be seen as malware activity }

If you have enough computers to make you want to automate this, you really
ought to install an internal DNS server. Hosts files are probably not the
right tool for the job.
