We are still showing Sunday Sept. 18 on the home page. Needless to say the
news is old, the stock market is behind so why is this still on the 18th?

Seeing as you haven't told us what your home page is (a URL would be
helpful) it's hard to provide specific advice. Generally, it's up to the
owner of a web page to see to it that their page is updating correctly.

Close IE.
Right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Properties.
On the General tab click "Delete Files" in the Temporary Internet files
section.
Check the box in the popup window.

Also, go to Tools -> Internet Options in IE. Click on Settings on General
tab. Change the "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to Every visit to
the page.

Or, as a quick workaround, when you load a page press Ctrl+F5. This will
force IE to check for new content bypassing local cache.
