Hi,

My computer keeps crashing. The processor goes to 100% usage and it
doesn't let me do anything else.

I can't update my antivirus (mcafee) it says :

Failed to Initialize Updater subsystem. Make sure the mcAfee Framework
Service is running. McAfee Common Framework returned error fffff95b @
2.

I went to services and tried to initialize it but it says:

McAfee Framework service was started but then stopped. Some services
stop if they don't have any tasks to perform, form example, alerts
services and performance registry.

I translated i have winxp in spanish.

I would really appreciate some help. Please let me know how can i send
u more information.

Hi Carocal,

Did you identified the process that is using the CPU?
What you can do is: start the system in safe mode with networking. See if
you can start McAfee and perform a scan.
You might want to download the latest version of Stinger
(http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/) and scan your system.

I know it is not something you want to hear, but you might want to consider
to securely rebuild your system as this is the only way to get 100% clean
again. Also make sure that you install all security updates.

Hope this helps,
Kurt

It won't help. Stinger is a Virus removal tool (mostly Internet worms and a few Trojans)
and has a very limited traget list.

Framework is part of the McAfee Enterprise VirusScan and this needs to be fixed.

/* Absolutely NOT ! */

Do NOT post HJT logs in News Groups.
Only post HJT logs in web forums who have personnel that have been vetted to properly
interpret and deal with them and who'll give the affected user personal attention.
