going to get a adsl router with built in firewall. Do I still need zonealarm?

Yes ,you still need a software firewall like Zone Alarm or any other firewall
because the router is only incoming hardware protection.

It is addition for better protections but the router can't protect you as
good as the software firewalls.

For example ,using Zone Alarm you can control any program and decide if you
want it to connect to internet.This can't be done with the hardware.

Via software firewall,you have full control.

A hardware firewall can do that. The problem is most people do not properly
configure their firewalls and feel they "don't protect you as good". The
difference between a hardware firewall and software firewall is a software
firewall will protect you from internal hosts.
