I would like to be able to identify who the actual sender
of email is instead of what WIN allows them to display.

How do I get to the actual envelope header?

I have WIN 98, 2000, XP Pro and am thionking of going to
Linux just for the ease of displaying true header info
(so I can identify infected PCs)

Thanks

What you want is to be able to look at detailed headers
of the emails you receive, right?

You don't need to switch OS for that. Your email
application will have a setting that willrevel full
headers.

eg. in Outlook Express, you highlight the message and
then check its property under file menu. it shows
complete headers and there is an option to see the
message source.

Other email clients will also have similar settings.

Web based emails like yahoo and hotmail have a setting
that revels the headers.
