Hello,
I have found that while running XP on a cable line. I
always have a TCP connection established on port 3023 and
3059 for crl.verisign.com. I am aware of the company
verisign, but im just wondering why does my computer open
a tcp connection to this address? any ideas?

It's their CRL Server. CRL = Certificate Revocation List. It lists all
certificates that have been revoked (due to compromise or other things).
Windows connects to it to check the validity of certificates.
