someone wants to password / make private individual folders
("make private" grey) on XP pro. but the help section
states they cant becuase ".... do not convert drive C to
NTFS if you dual-boot Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft
Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) on
the same computer, and do not convert other drives to NTFS
if you dual-boot Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me on
the same computer .....".

i also read that moving the folder " If you want to make a
file in a private folder available to others, move it to
the Shared Documents, Shared Pictures, or Shared Music
folder. " can the folder then be moved back to the orginal
folder??

is here anyway single folders can be "made private" that
use fat 32/ dual boot / ME & xp pro??

please pass his on to the correct department if this isnt
it and have them email me with any info

ajlyca@netscape.net

I have a computer that is triple boot with Windows ME, Windows XP Pro, and
Windows 2003. My primary partition that contains the boot configuration
files [boot.ini, ntldr, ntdetect, etc ] is Windows ME, which was the first
operating system installed. That partition is of course fat32. My other
partitions are all ntfs. This all works fine with the exception that of
course that I can not read any data on the ntfs partitions while using
Windows ME. So it can be done as long as Windows ME is in the boot partition
and you do not need to access any data on the ntfs partions from Windows
ME/9X. If you do convert to ntfs, be SURE you do not convert the partition
that has ME/9X. --- Steve
