Go to a trusted website and do a port scan on yourself is one way.

Also, go home or use a laptop with an alternate dialup internet connection
to test whatever services you're forwarding from outside the firewall.
That's the true test... but if necessary, check the firewall logs and run a
sniffer such as Ethereal or Microsoft's Network Monitor [included with
Windows servers] on the target servers.
