Hi,
I'm doing a dynamic web application that will run on several laptop (stand alone - not in a LAN & without connection). I need to run/execute, from one of the page, a third party application which is on a CD-Rom, but when I click on the link that calls this exe file, of course, I get the usual File Download warning message (Some file can harm your computer ... OPEN / SAVE / CANCEL).
I would like to avoid that message, so open the exe file immediatly when I click on the link.
I already look for a solution for hours & hours (and becoming mad with this) with Director, Flash, ... without success. I suppose there's maybe a key somewhere in the registry ???
Please HELP.

Thanks in advance

I dont think the warning message is avoidable. However, one of the things
you could try is wrap your install around an activex control. So, host an
activex control on your page which will start the install process on the
click of a button or something.

Hope that helps.

Try this:
Start>settings>FOLDER OPTIONS>File Types>Scroll to files in question>select
by highlighting>edit>UN-check box which says "confirm open after
download">OK >apply (if necessary)>OK out.

I know the "confirm open after download" sounds the opposite of what you
mean, but that is how MS words it. Seems it should say "confirm open before
(or during) download". Anyway, if that is disabled you will not see that
dialogue box; it will just download and then open.

Hi

You could consider using HTA (HTML Application) instead (*.HTA files
hosted by mshta.exe):

HTML Applications (HTAs)

A HTA example can be found here:
