Hi,

I need to apply all security updates to PCs in our enterprise. These PCs are
on a LAN not connected to the Internet. Is it possible to download all
security updates to a CD and then apply them? All the PCs are Win98.
Is it any Windows product for managing centralized distribution of security
updates instead the Windows Update web page that requires direct Internet
access?

Thanks in advance

Any update, hotfixe, service pack, etc. can be downloaded and burned to CD
for reuse. Please visit http://support.microsoft.com and
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads to obtain whatever patches you are
looking for. You may also want to consider Software Update Services
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/sus/default.mspx, however that
solution would require your server to have an internet connection.

Sjonia,
Software Update Services is just what I need but.... it doesn't supports
Win9x. System Management Services is too expensive for us. We are trying to
accommodate a policy for our enterprise in relation to security updates. 99%
of our PCs are Win98 most located in remote places. What do you reccomend
for applying all our PCs all the security patches? Where is in the Microsoft
site a complete list of all patches all should apply to a PC after Win98 CD
installation?

Thanks for your reply
Faustino

Please visit the following website and perform a search for Windows 98 -
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp - this should
allow you to easily download all Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE serivce packs,
hotfixes, etc. and burn them to a CD for later use.
