OK, I keep getting these annoying popups about "IP
leakes" and other such pop ups leading me to websites to
BUY there product to stop them. Well the longer I am
online (I use AOL) the more they come (about 1 every 20
min or so). I tracked it down to a program that resides
in microsoft folder "system32". The program
is "csrss.exe" but when I try to end the program it says
it is a "critical program and cannot be ended". Well if
this is a microsoft problem I dont want it, and if its
some sneaky ploy by adverisers (which I think it is) its
annoying as hell! Please help!
Please email any help: Zammzig@aol.com

thanx you!

Frank

Hi Frank,

Install personal firewall on your PC (you can use free one like ZoneAlarm).
This will stop pop-ups AND protect your PC from the internet...

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/communicate/stopspam.asp

To protect your PC also install Anti Virus and update your PC regularly
using www.windowsupdate.com ...

There are two types of pop-up. Messenger (not MSN
Messenger)and Web pop-ups.
You can get a pop-up stopper if you want, or you can
disable the messenger service (Control Panel, Admin tools,
Services) to stop the Messenger pop-ups and in I.E. you
can disable Active & Java scripting (Tools, Internet
Options, Security Tab, Custom button, Under the Scripting
section select the Disable radio buttons for Active
scriping & Scripting of Java applets) to disable Web Pop-
Ups.
