I'm running winxp pro

This is so strange - I'm wondering if I have been hacked -
I have norton fully updated and running as well as
Microsoft's firewall, but . . .
I cannot access a folder on my "D" drive - it says access
denied- I am admin and tried chaning read only setting
in properties to no avail. I right clicked and chose
security and sharing, but there are no security options -
access options or the like - there - I am not sure how to
get around in administrative tools, but I'm thinking that
is where the problem is (though I did not change
anything - I swear!). I used Norton Disk doctor and it
stops giving me the message: The operating system or
another process currently has exclusive access to this
drive, or some of its files. . .
What gives? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

what folder is it? not 'System Volume Information' by any chance?? files
or folders can be protected from administrator access if they are created by
some other user like 'system' and not given access rights for
administrator... as an administrator you should be able to take ownership of
it and do whatever you want. you may also have to turn off simple file
sharing to see the settings to control this.
