Hi.

I have installed this HOSTESS program and imported my HOST and Spybots HOST
file into it.
I have also SpywareBlaster so I tried to import the HOST file into
SpywareBlaster but it comes up with a message that there is no HOST file to
find.

Do you know if it is because HOSTESS have it? I don't seems to understand
exactly how it works.

Regards / Gunilla.

I do not understand. SpywareBlaster does not have a HOSTS import but a
function to back up and restore called HOSTS Safe. I don't use it.
HOSTESS creates a backup. As the HOSTS file is very dynamic I find that
this backup is sufficient. I don't use the SpyBot S&D HOSTS file as it is
not kept up to date as the others I use.

Maybe I should mention that I choosed to "Update the host with values from
the import file if they differ" and "Assign ALL imported hosts to the
default group" if it makes a different.

Thanks, now I see. I think my head is screwed up sometimes because I meant
to back up the HOST in SpywareBlaster.

Your answer made it clearer. Thanks for your reply.

Gunilla.

I do not use the first option as I only use the HOSTS file to stop ads and
stuff. I do not use Groups as it would only be good to export entries for
specific blocking and then use that to detect problems. Way too complex
for me so I juse enable or disable the HOSTS file when needed. The second
option is good.
