Based on my research, KB896424 should be available not only for SUS but
also for WSUS. Please refer to KB 909914 section: Summary of detection and
deployment guidance.

I suspect it may want to be a SUS issue. I suggest you open a new post in
microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services newsgroup. We recommend
posting appropriately so you will get the most qualified pool of
respondents, and so other partners who regularly read the newsgroups can
either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. They
could provide you with some helpful suggestions. Thanks for your
