Every time I open the internet I am bombarded with pop
ups about windows messenger. There is a new version and
do I want to download it now. Yes or No. I am fed up
saying no 3 or 4 times a session. How do I get rid of
these popups.Has anyone else got this problem? Thanks
Gerry

I would switch to Firefox for browsing the internet. IE is
chock-full-o-holes, Microsoft even admits it. Firefox blocks popup windows
as well.

If you are referring to "regular" advertisement pop-ups,
install a reputable pop-up blocker like Panicware's Pop-Up
Stopper Free Edition or the Google Toolbar that comes with
a pop-up blocker.

You might be getting pop-up windows labeled "Messenger
Service" in the title bar. If so...

If you have Windows 2000:
